HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-02-27 Bozeman, Mon tana February 27, 1963 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commis- sion Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, February 27, 1963 at 1:00 o'clock p.m. I Present were Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, City Manager Cutting, Ass't. City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. The following proceedings were had: Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by CommiS- sioner SediVY, seconded by Mayor Staudaher, that the minutes as read and corrected be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. .,. Revised Right-of-way Easement SID No. 425 David P. Vaughn The Commission was advised that to avoid a costly type of tunnel construction under the proposed Interstate Highway for the trunk line sewer pipeline of Special Improvement District No. 425, it is necessary to change the alignment of I the sewer. A revised right-of-way easement from David P. and Josephine W. Vaughn incorporating the change of the line across their property at no additional cost was presented. After the document was approved as to form by the City Attorney, it was moved by Mayor Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the ease- ment be accepted" and approved and the Mayor and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized and directed to sign the easement for the City of Bozeman and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. West Side OUtfall Sewer Trunk Line Application for Federal WPC Grant ($73,023.00) '''' The City Commi~sion w~s referred to the filing of a petition during its regular meeting of September 26, 1962, which requested that a special improve- ment district be created for the construction of a sewer trunk line to serve an area North of Huffine Lane and East of 23rd Avenue. It was reported that the preliminary engineering work on the proposed project has now progressed to the stage that an application should be filed to request federal participation in the projec t. The City Manager stated that the sewer trunk line contemplated would be a part of the trunk line system recommended by consultant engineers, Harold Hoskins & Associates, as contained in their "Report of Sewerage System Improvements for the City of Bozeman", HHFA Project No. Mont. 24-P-3081. He further stated that I the proposed sewer trunk line construction is estimated to cost a total of $243,410.00 and presented an application prepared for submission to the State Board of Health, acting as the State Water Pollution Control Agency, requesting a grant of Federal funds in the amount of $73,023.00 under the provisions of 33 U.S.C. 466 et seq., "Federal Grants for Sewage Treatment", to assist in the accomplishment of this proposed construction. In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by 221 20'"'.) (;~ Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Staudaher, that the application as pre" sented and its submission to the State agency as indicated be approved and that the Mayor be designated as the representative of the City authorized to sign the application and other documents pertaining thereto and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Discussion Street Surfacing in University Subdivision and Thompson's 2nd Addition I Herbert I. Thompson and McKinley T. Anderson, Jr. appeared to discuss with City Officials the possibilities of providing pavement and drainage for streets in areas of the University Subdivision and Thompson's 2nd Addition. Other than an informal discussion of the matter, no action was taken. New Federal Building Mr. Hutchinson of General Service Administration Mr. Robert H. Hutchinson of the General Service Administration appeared and discussed the sta tus of the plans for the new Federal building scheduled for construction in Bozeman. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Staudaher, that the City approve an agreement to give the agency permission to enter upon City property included in the proposed site for the building to perform soil tests and a boundary and topographical survey. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time it was moved by Mayor Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the meeting adjourn.
