HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-03-06 Bozeman, Montana March 6, 1963 I The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, March 6, 1963 at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, Assistant City Manager Fryslie acting as City Manager in the absence of City Manager Cutting, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. The following proceedings were had: Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commis. sioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Staudaher, that the minutes as read be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Commission Resolution No. 1065 Intention to Create Special Improvement District No. 427 Commission Resolution No. 1065, entitled: I COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1065 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN DECLARING IT TO BE THE INTENTION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN TO CREATE A SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT TO BE KNOWN AS SPECIAL IM~ROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 427 OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN FOR 'IRE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING AND INSTALLING A PAVEMENT PROJECT ON NORTH TENTH AVENUE FROM BEALL STREET TO DURSTON ROAD. SAID PAVEMENT PROJECT TO INCLUDE CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF A STORM SEWER LINE, COMBINATION CONCRETE amES Am> GU'M'ERS, GRAVEL BASE COURSE, CRUSHED GRAVEL CUSHION OOURS~..AND BITUMINOUS SURFACE COURSE. prepared by the City Attorney, as instructed by the City Commission dur- ing its meeting of February 20, 1963. was presented. Acting City Manager Fryslie recon~ended that the Commission adopt the resolution and it was moved by Mayor Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the resolution be passed and adopted and March 27th, 1963. bb". set as the date for public hearing and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Discussion Proposed Construction of Radio Station North of Buttreys Shopping Center Ben Hespin appeared at the meeting and reported that he has plans to -I construct a radio station in the immediate vacinity of Bozeman, and inquired about future regulations planned for the zoning of land recently annexed in the west portion of Bozeman. Mr.llrespln stated he l1ad tentatively chosen a trio. angular strip of land north and adjacent to Buttrey's store as the site for the station. The Commission was informed that the Planning Board recommended this area for zoning as Motor Business at its meeting March 4tn; such recommendation being tentative until formal zoning recommendations can be submitted to the City Commission. Other than a general discussion of the matter, action was tabled until the next regular meeting. (COB t1n];ed .2n_Pag~ ]"0..:, 22..1) 223 224 Reports The following reports were presented: Disposal Plant Operator Police Judge Chief of Police (Annual Report, 1962 Librarian Fire Chief Fluoridation Building Inspector Fire Chief) I Acting City Manager Fryslie commented on the reports and recommended their approval. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Staudaher, that the reports be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. P..L.P. 9,271.09 2,944 .13 2,539.27 24.95 1,117.50 775.60 16.00 Total $79,261.60 " Acting City Manager Fryslie commented on the claims and stated that City Manager Cutting had audited them and found them to be true and lawful claims against the City of Bozeman and recommended that they be approved and the Director of Finance directed to issue warrants in payment. After examination I of the claims in detail and checking against the claim register, it was moved by Mayor Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that all claims as pre- sented be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those vo ting No, none. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Staudaher, that the meeting adjourn.
