The 'Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commis-
sion Room, City Hail Building, Wednesday, December 19, 1962 at l:uO orclock p.m.
I Present were Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow, City Manager Cutting, Ass't.
City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk.
The following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commis-
sioner Morrow, seconded by Mayor Staudaher, that the minutes be approved as read
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Mayor Staudaher and Commissione! Morrow; those voting No, none.
Commissioner Sedivy's Absence -- Approved
In compliance with Chapter 2.08 of the Bozeman Municipal Code, it was moved
by Mayor Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that Commissioner Sedivy's
absence from the meeting be considered as authorized and the motion was carried
by the following Aye a;nd No vote.: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and
Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.
Water Meters -- Purchase
The City Manager reported that in order to take advantage of a favorable
price he recommended that he be authorized to place an order for thirty-five
I (3/4") water meters before December 31st, at $28.00 each, or a total approxi-
mate cost of $98U.UO. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Mayor
Staudaher, that the purchase be authorized and the motion was carried by the
following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commis-
sioner Morrow; those voting No, none.
Deed: 30t Strip to Widen 11th Ave. at Babcock, Arnold Taylor
In order to assist the City in its plan to widen 11th Avenue, a deed to
the City from Arnold B. & Margaret H. Taylor was presented to transfer a

thirty (30) foot strip of .Land described as follows:
Beginning at the NE corner of the swt of Section 12,
Township 2 South, Range 5 East, M.P.M. ; thence West
30 feet; thence South l55.4 feet; thence East 30 feet;
thence North 155.4 feet to the point of beginning.
The City Manager recommended that the City accept the deed and it was
moved by Mayor Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the City accept
the transfer of the property and the motion was carried by the following Aye and
No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Morrow; those
I voting No, none.
License Bonds -- Geo. Wellhouser, Manhattan: Plumbing, Gas Fitter
and Electrician
In compliance with Chapters 15.04 and 16.04, the Electrical and Plumbing
Codes of the Bozeman Municipal Code, the electrician, plumbing and gas fitter
bonds of. Geo. Wellhouser, Manhattan, Montana, were presented. It was reported
the Building Inspector had recommended that the bonds be approved. After the
bonds had been approved as to form by the City Attorney, it was moved by

Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Mayor Staudaher, that ~he bonds be approved

Cashier Director of Finance
After commenting on the reports, the City Manager recommended their
approval. It was moved by Mayor Staudaner, seconded by Commissioner Morrow,
that the reports be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by
the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher,and
Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.
Applications -- City Beer and Liquor Licenses (1963)
The following applications for city beer and liquor licenses, toge ther
with the required license fees, were presented:

The C1 ty Manager and the Chief of Police stated they were not aware of
any incidents in the operations of the above establishments that would warrant
disapproval of the applications. In concurrence with the recommendation of I
the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Mayor
Staudaher, that the above applications be approved and the Director of Finance
be directed to issue licenses in accordance therewith and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Staudaher and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.
Request to Hold "Broom Ball" Game -- MSC Ski Club, Monday, Jan. , 14th
A request from the Montana State College Ski Club for permission to hold "-
a II Broom Ball tt game, as an event on the schedule of its winter carnival, on
South Tracy or Willson Avenue, Monday evening, January 14th, was presented.
Both the City Manager and the Chief of Police stated they preferred that the
event be staged on Willson Avenue. It was moved by Mayor Staudaher, seconded
by Commissioner Morrow, that permission to stage the event on Willson Avenue
as requested be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and
No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher and Commissioner Morrow; those
voting No, none.
Sullivan Photo -- Request to Lease the West 56' of the Bozeman Free Library I
Site
In his endeavor to acquire a suitable site for an attendant supervised
short time parking area for Sullivan Photo and one or two other businesses in
the vicinity, a letter from W. D. Sullivan, President, was introduced which
inquired as to the possibility of leasing from the City the west 56 feet of
the Bozeman Free Library site, or that portion of lots 16 and 17, Block "Ett,

Original Townsite, owned by the City. In order to give the matter due consider-
ation, action was tabled for future study.
Resolution Authorizing the Director of Finance to Dispose of Registered
Securities of the City of Bozeman
Form PD I009 of the Treasury Department, or a resolution authorizing
I L. G. Shadoan, as Director of Finance of the City of Bozeman, Montana, to assign
and dispose of registered securities of the City of Bozeman was presented.
Mr. Shadoan requested that the resolution be completed and it was moved by
Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Mayor Staudaher, that the resolution be completed
and set forth in full in the minutes of the meeting as follows:

RESOLVED, That L. G. Shadoan, Director of Finance, is
hereby authorized to assign and sell or otherwise dispose
of any and all registered United States securities or
securities for which the Treasury ~epartment acts as
transfer agency now or hereafter owned-by this Corp-
oration, and for such purpose to appoint one or more
attorneys in fact with authority in turn to appoint one
or more substitutes.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, That any and all action as
authorized herein previously taken by the above-listed
officers is hereby ratified.
