The Commission of the Ci ty of Bozeman met in regular se_ssion 1n the Commis-
sion Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, July 25, 1962 at l:UU o'clock p.m.
1 Present were Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner ~orrow, City
Manager Cutting, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk.
The following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner
Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the m1nutes be approved as read and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting
No, none.
Ordinance No. 822 (Dogs) -- Enforcement
J. H. Goldenstein, Eddie Burton and F. T. Wbod appeared before the Commission
to request a more rigid enforcement of City Ordinance No. 822, commonly known as
the "Dog" ordinance. After the exact nature of dissatisfaction was determined,
City Officials explained in detail the intent, legal aspects, and enforcement
problems of the ordinance and the complainants were assured that with their
cooperation the offending parties would be called upon to control their animals
so that the animals would no longer damage the property of the complainants or
1 be a general nuisance.
Sodium Silicofluoride -- Request to call for bids
The City Manager reported the Water Department has need to replenish its
supply of sodium silicofluoride for use as an additive to the City's water supply
and requested that the purchase of 5u,0UO lbs., at an estimated cost of $8.50
per cwt., as a two year supply be authorized. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy,
seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the purohase as requested be authorized and
the Clerk of the City Commission be directed to issue a call for bids for the pur-
ohase and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting

Resolution No. 1045 -- Intention to Create Special Improvement District No. 426

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN DECLARING
IT TO BE THE INTENTION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN TO CREATE A SPECIAL
I. IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT TO BE KNOWN AS SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
NO. 426 FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING AND INSTALLING AN EIGHT INCH
OUTFALL SEWER FROM EAST MAIN STREET AND ROUSE AVENUE TO THE NORTH
LINE OF UNIVERSITY SUB-DIVISION AND FOR THE CONSTRUCTING AND INSTALL-
ING OF AN EIGHT INCH LATERAL SEWER FROM THE NORTH LINE OF UNIVERSITY
SUB-DIVISION TO THE NORTH LINE OF WESTRIDGE SUB-DIVISION, SAID SAN-
ITARY SEWER PROJECT TO INCLUDE ALL APPURTENANT WORK, INCLUDING
NECESSARY PIPE LINES, MANHOLES AND OTHER NECESSARY APPURTENANCES.

meeting of June 27, 1962, was presented. Upon recommendation of the City Manager,
it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commlssioner Sedivy, tha t the
resolution be passed and adopted and August 15th, 1962, be set as the date for
publlc hearing on the issue and the motion was carried by the following Aye and
No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commis-
sioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. I
Cashier's Report for June
The Cashier's report for the month of June, 1962 was presented. The City
Manager commented on the report and recommended its approval. It was moved by
Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the report be approved
and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:
those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow;
those voting No, none.
Appropriation Ordinance No. 836 ...... Provisionally Passed
The City Manager reviewed the proposed budget for the fiscal year ending
June 30th, 1963, and Ordinance No. 836 was presented, entitled:

AN ORDINANCE A~PROPRIATING MONIES FOR EXPENDITURES DEEMED
NECESSARY AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH BUDGETARY REQUIREMENTS FOR
MAINTENANCE ETC., OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE crTY OF
BOZEMAN, MONTANA FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30th, 1963.
It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that I
the Ordinance be provisionally adopted and August 1, 1962 be set as the date for
publiC hearing and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting. Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy;
those voting No, none.
Reinstatement of License Bonds -.. Brown Plbg. & Heating
During the Commission meeting held May 2, 1~62, the Commission, in compli-
ance with the request of the American Casualty Company, approved the cancellation
of the Master Plumber's Bond of Brown Plumbing & Heating Company by the bonding
company effective as of June 30th, 1962. At the request of the American Casualty
Company, and in concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was
moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, tha t the bond be
reinstated effective as of June 30, 1962. The motion was carried by the follow-
ing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy
and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.
American Municipal Association Convention - - Philadelphia (August 25-29)
It was announced that the American Munioipal Association has scheduled its I
convention to be held in Philadelphia, Penna., August 25-29, and the City Manager
recommended that Mayor Staudaher be delegated to represent the City. It was
moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, tha t Me. yor S taudaher
be authorized to attend the meeting and, it being in the public interest, the
expenses incurred be charged to the General fund. The motion was carried by

There being no further business to come before the Commission at
this time, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner
Morrow, that the meeting adjourn. The motion was carried by the fOllow-

sioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.
