HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-08-22 - 129 Bozeman, Montana Augus t 22, 1962 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commis- sion Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, August 22, 1962 at 1:00 orclock p.m. I Present were Commissioner Morrow presiding in the absence of Mayor Staudaher as Acting Mayor, Co~~lssioner Sedivy, City Manager Cutting, Gity Attorney Berg and the Clerk. The following proceedings were had: Minu te s of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Acting Mayor Morrow, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Acting Mayor Morrow and Commissioner S~divy; those voting No, none. Mayorr s Absence -- Approved In compliance with Chapter 2.08 of the Bozeman Municipal Code, 1 t was moved by Acting Mayor Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that Mayor Staudaher's absence from the meeting be considered as authorized, he being a delegate of the City of Bozeman during his attendance at the American Municipal Association Convention at Philadelphia, August 25th to 29th. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Acting Mayor Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. I Purchase of stone Chips for Seal-Coat Oiling of Streets The City Manager reported that the Street department has need for an addi- tional supply of stone chips to complete itsaeal-coat oiling program for the year and requested authorization to purchase 150 cubic yards of the material at $4.00 per yard, or the to ta 1 a pprox ima te co s t of $6uO. uO · It was moved by Commissioner Sedi vy, seconded by Acting Mayor Morrow, tha t the purchase be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Acting Mayor Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Easement -- Water Pipe Line from Gallatin County (West College Street) An easement agreement between Gallatin County and the City of Bozeman to provide right-or-way for a waterpipe line was presented. The agreement was pre- pared specifically for the purpose of securing from Gallatin County a right-of~ way to permit the construction of a waterpipe iine along a county highway known as the "Huffine Lan! between Fifteenth and Sixteenth Avenues. The City Manager stated that the Board of County Commissioners had approved the agreement and reco- I mmended that the City enter into the agreement and the Mayor and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized and directed to sign for the City. It was moved by Acting Mayor Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the City enter into the agreement as recommended and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Acting Mayor Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. (Continued on Page No. 130) - 130 Resolution No. 1049 -- Extend City Limits to the West of City Commission Resolution No. 1049, entitled: COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1049 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN DECLARING IT TO BE TO THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN AND THE INHABITANTS THEREOF AND OF THE IN- I HABITANTS OF A TRACT OF LAND CONTIGUOUS TO THE SAID CITY OF BOZEMAN AND HEREIN MORE ~ARTICULARLY DESCRIBED TO EXTEND THE BOUNDARIES OF THE SAID CITY OF BOZEMAN SO AS TO INCLUDE THE SAID CONTIGUOUS TRACT WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS THEREOF. prepared by the City Attorney, as instructed by the City Commission during ita meeting of August 15th, 1962, was presented. The City Manager recommended that the Commission proceed to complete the action incorporated in the resolution. It was moved by Commissioner SediVY, seconded by Acting Mayor Morrow, that the resolution be passed and adopted and September 19th, 1962, be set as the date for public hearing on the issue and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Acting Mayor Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Director of Finance Report for July The Director of Flnancers report for the month of July, 1962 was presented. The City Manager commented on the report and recommended it be approved. It was moved by Acting Mayor Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the report be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye I and No vote: those voting Aye being Acting Mayor Morrow and Commissioner Sedi vyj those voting No, none. Petition -- Change of Form of City Government The City Manager commented that the petition filed with the Clerk of the Commission, August 7th, is being processed by the Clerk in accordance with legal and accepted procedures. Request -- Reserved Parking Space for Cooperative Extension Service BUB A letter of request from Paul J. Moore, State 4-H Club Leader, which requested that the City reserve a parking space in the vicinity of Woolworthrs store to provide a special stop for the clubrs bus in connection with its annual Montana conference, during the hours of from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m., Friday, August 24th, was presented. It was moved by Acting Mayor Morrow, seconded by Commis- sioner Sedivy, that the request be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Acting Mayor Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
