SUBJECT: Resolution Number 4774, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA,
CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF POLICE OFFICERS IN
ACCORDANCE WITH MONTANA CODE ANNOTATED 7-32-4108
AND 7-32-4113.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve Resolution Number 4774.
BACKGROUND: Section 7-32-4108, Montana Code Annotated, provides that all
appointments to the “police force” must be confirmed by the city council or commission.
Section 7-32-4113, Montana Code Annotated, requires that in order to be submitted to the City
Commission for confirmation, every applicant will have passed an examination and received a
certificate from the police commission noting that the applicant has qualified for appointment.
Additionally, the applicant must successfully complete a probationary period before being
submitted to the City Commission for confirmation as a member of the “police force.”
Officers Benjamin King, Derek Dyk, Harlee Barbao, Ian Anderson, Jacob Ahmann, Spencer
Jenkins, Jennifer Johnson, Jacob Ehlert and Kenneth Dams all meet the above-noted
requirements and have successfully completed their probationary periods. As such, Resolution
Number 4774 was written to confirm the appointment of these officers.

ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
FISCAL EFFECTS: None.

COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 4774
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA, CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF POLICE OFFICERS IN
ACCORDANCE WITH MONTANA CODE ANNOTATED 7-32-4108 AND 7-32-4113.
WHEREAS, Section 7-32-4108, Montana Code Annotated, provides that all appointments
to the “police force” must be confirmed by the city council or commission; and
WHEREAS, the following listed personnel have passed the required examinations, have
been certified by the Police Commission, and have successfully completed the probationary
period.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of
Bozeman, Montana: that the following listed personnel are confirmed as members of the Bozeman
Police Department.
King, Benjamin
Dyk, Derek
Barbao, Harlee
Anderson, Ian
Ahmann, Jacob
Jenkins, Spencer
Johnson, Jennifer
Ehlert, Jacob
