Re: Project: Soibo Lofts Mixed Use Building, Application 16534
My family owns two homes within a block of this proposed project. We live directly across from
the Pizza Hut with our two girls who are 4 and 6 years old. This is the only home they have
known. My office is also located adjacent to the Haufbrau. The neighborhood integrates small
business with the surrounding families in a manner that creates a sense of community. A
towering four story structure, without rooftop green space, would destroy this neighborhood. Its
physical shadow would cover our house, back yard and leave no sense of privacy or security.
The business plan for Babcock can be achieved without permitting towering structures that
overwhelm an infrastructure that is saturated by the existing residents. We, along with our
neighbors, simply could not continue to live in an area that integrates high density housing with
three separate taverns. The mix would be hazardous and its reach would extend into the south
side the Cooper Park. The area can continue to grow as planned without permitted such an
expansive use the exceeds the landowners natural, if not physical, footprint. Please deny the
project as planned and hold the owner to the pre-existing and planned uses that integrate rather
than overwhelm the Southside into Bozeman's future.
Very truly yours,
A FI nd ANGEL FAMILY
