The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commis-
sion Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, January 17, 1962, at ~:UO O'Clock P.M.
I Present were Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow, City Manager
Cutting, City Attorney Berg and Ass't. City Manager Frys~ie.
The following proceedings were had:
Designation -- Acting Clerk of the City Commission
The City Manager reported that C. K. Wilson, Clerk of the City Commission,
was absent due to illness and recommended that Harold A. Fryslie be designated
Acting Clerk of the City Commission for this date. It was moved by Commissioner
Sedi vy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow that Harold A. Frys~ie be designated Acting
Clerk of the City Commission as recommended by the City Manager and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher,
Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrowj those voting No, none.
Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner
Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy that the the minutes be approved as read and
the motion was carried by the fo~lowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner SedivYj those voting No, none.
Appearance of Attorney, Donald A. Nash
I Donald A. Nash, Attorney at Law, appeared before the Commission and addressed
the Mayor relative to the Police Court case, the City of Bozeman vs. Frank J. Trunk
and Son, Inc., involving a citation for a violation of the Traffic Code and tried
before a jury in Police Court this date.
Short Term Investment of Operational Funds
The City Manager reported $19U,UUO.UO of Operational Funds are now on hand,
but not immediate~y needed to meet operational expenses, and the Director of Finance
has requested authority to invest these funds in short term securities as follows:

Upon the City Manager's recommendation it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy,
seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the request as outlined and recommended b.
approved and the motion was carried by the fOllowing Aye and No vote: those voting

Reports
The following reports were presented for December, 1961:
Water Collector Director of Finance
Police Chief (Annual) Director of Public Service
The City Manager made comment on each of the reports and recommended that they
be approved and ordered filed. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by

motion was carried by the foilowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting
No, none. I
Consideration of Bid -- Addressing Machine
The City Manager reported that he had reviewed the bid for purchase of an
addressing machine opened before the City Commission at its meeting January 10,
1962, and that the Director of Finance and Mr. J. M. Yerby, representing the
Heiena Branch, Addressograph-Mul tigraph Corp. were present to answer any ques tions
the Commission may wish to pose. Following discussion of shipping arrangements the
City Manager recommended that the purchase of an addressing machine be awarded to
the Addressograph"Mu1tigraph Corporation in accordance with the bid received by
the City Commission and recorded in the Minutes of January lV, 1962, with delivery
in not more then eight weeks. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by
Commissioner Morrow, that the bid of Addressograph-Multigraph Corporation be
accepted and the purchase swarded in accordance with the City Manager's recommend-
ation and the motion was carried by the fOllowing Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrowj those
voting No, none.
Adjournment I
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time
it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner sedivy, tha t the
meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote!
