HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-02-28 -- 47 Bozeman, Montana February 28, 1962 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commis- I sion Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, February 28, 1962 at 1:00 o'clock P.M. Present were Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner a,edi vy, Commissioner Morrow, Acting City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. The following proceedings were had: Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Curb Cuts -- Willson Avenue Conoco Service Station Mr. Robert Adams and Forrest Kilbride, representing the Continental Oil Company, appeared to discuss the matter of the company's possible request for an additional curb cut on Willson Avenue in connection with its planned reconstruction of its station on the northeast corner of South Willson Avenue and Olive Street. A tentative plan of the improvement was presented and a meeting was planned between the Commission and representatives of the company for 11:45 A.M., March 7th, to I review and further study the matter. Letter of Appreciation -- Maxine Nu t ter A letter received from Mrs. Maxine Nutter, wife of former Governor Donald G. Nu tter, to express her appreciation of the statement issued by Mayor Staudaher in behalf of the citizens of Bozeman, a t the time of the tragic death of the Governor and his official party was read. Electricians Bond - .. Arthur L. Stuart (Bozeman Electric) The new electrician's bond of Arthur L. Stuart, dba Bozeman Electric, issued by the Standard Accident Insurance Company was presented. The bond having been approved by the City Building Inspector and the City Attorney, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the bond be approved and accepted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none. Gas Fitters and Plumbers Bond -- George Norman The Gas Fitter and Plumber bonds of George Norman, Belgrade, Montana, issued I by The Home Indemnity Company were presented. The bonds were approved by the City Building Inspector and the City Attorney. It was recommended by the Acting City Manager that the bonds be approved. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the bonds be approved and accepted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. 48 Bozeman Creek Reservoir Company -- Meeting 2/19/62 The Acting City Manager reported on the meeting of the Bozeman Creek Reservoir Company, held February 19, 1962. He enumerated and commented on the proceedings of the meeting which are recorded in the minutes of the Company. It was moved by I Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the report on the pro~ ceedings of the Bozeman Reservoir Company be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commis- sioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none. Leave of Absence -- Arthur W. Thompson (Police Judge) The written request of Police Judge Arthur W. Thompson for a leave of absence for the period March 5-9, 1962, inclusive was presented. The Acting City Manager recommended that the leave of absence be granted and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the leave of absence be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none. Air Compressor -- Rejection of Bids During the Commission meeting of February 21st, the awarding of the purchase of an air compressor was delayed until this meeting of the Commission. Following the recommendation of the Acting City Manager and the City Engineer, it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that all bids be rejected I and the bidders be notified of the Commission's action. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commis- sioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
