The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the
I Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, March 28, 1962 at I:OO o'clock
P.M. Present were Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow,
City Manager Cutting, City Attorney Berg, Ass't. City Manager Fryslie and
the Clerk.
The following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commis-
sioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the minutes be approved as
read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy; those
voting No, none.
VFW Buddy Poppy Sale -- Ma y 19, 1962
A request from the Veterans of Foreign Wars to have its annual Buddy Poppy
sale on Saturday, May 19th, was read. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy,
seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that permission be granted as requested and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye be-
ing Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; thos e vo ting
I No, none.
Continuation Certificates of Frank J. Trunk & Son, Inc. (Plumbing & Gas
Fitters Bonds)
Continuation certificates for the renewal of the gas fitters and plumbing
bonds of Frank J. Trunk and Son, Inc. were presented. The certificates were
both approved as to form by the City Attorney. It was moved by Commissioner
Mor row, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the certificates be approved and
accepted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those

voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy;
those voting No, none.
Request for Leave of Absence -- Ass't. City Manager Harold A. Fryslie to
Attend Military School
Ass't. City Manager Harold A. Fryslie is a Captain and an active member of
the Montana National Guard. Current provisions of the Reserve Officers Personnel
Act together with Department of the Army and National Guard Bureau directives
require that certain standards of proficiency and educational requirements be
,
maintained and accomplished by officers of the National Guard. In accordance
I wi th these regula tions Captain J:lryslie has rece1 ved orders placing him on active
duty and directing hiw to report to The U.S. Army Armor School at Fort Knox,
Kentucky to attend the five-month Associate Armor Officer Career Course begin-
ning on April 6, 1962 . He has requested that he be granted a leave of absence
without pay for the period April 3 to August 24, 1962, inclusive, to enable him
to attend the school. The City Manager reported he had approved the request in
the interest of National Defense and to assure competent officer personnel for

the local unit of the Nation/Guard and requested Commission confirmation of the
action. It was moved bY, Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, I
that approval of the request be confirmed and the motion was carried by the
fOllowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, Commissioner
Sedivy and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this
time it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy;
that the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and
No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Staudaher, ,Commissioner Morrow and
Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
