The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commis-
sion Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday. November 22, 1961 at l:UO otclock P.M.
I Present were Mayor Swanson. Commissioner Staudaher. Commissioner Sedivy. Ass't.
City Manager Fryslie. City Attorney Berg and the Clerk.
The fOllowing proceedings were had:
Minutes of the last regul~r session were read and it was moved by Commissioner
Sedivy. seconded by Commissioner Staudaher. that the minutes be approved as read
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye be-
ing Mayor Swanson. Commlssioner Sedivy and Commissioner Staudaher; those voting
No. none.
Report .. - Annual Meeting of Middle Creek Water Users' Assoclation
Ass t t. City Manager ,It'ryslie reported on his a ttendance a t the annual meet-
ing of the Middle Creek Water Users' Association of whiCh the City or Bozeman is
a stockhOl.der. His report consisted of a brief resume of the proceedings of the
meeting.
Exchange of City Investments -- Director of Finanoe
It was reported by the Director of Finance that under a special exchange
privilege, the City could exchange U.S. Series "G" Bonds for U.S. Treasury Bonds
I IDa turing in 1968. and benefit by an increase of interes t income from a ra te of
2t% to 3 .8'lM6. He requested that he be given authority to exchange investments
in Series "G" Bonds for the la tter securl ties in the following amounts:
Cemetery Permanent Care . . . . . . $IO.OOO.OO
Police Reserve Fund . . . . . . . 1.500.00
It was moved by Commissioner Staudaher. seconded by Commissioner ~edivy. that
the authorization for the exchange as set forth above be granted and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor
Swanson. Commissioner Staudaher and Commissioner SediVY; those voting No. none.
Authority to Travel -- Captain Huber. Fire Dept.
Fire Chief Penttila commented on the excellent training Fireman Charles
Masten received while acting under a student status with the Missoula Fire Depart-
ment during the week of May 26th, 1961. and requested that Captain Huber of the
City Fire Department be authorized to act for the City of Bozeman in a like capa-
city during the week of November 27th with the Billings Fire Department. and that
the necessary expenses of the schooling incurred by Captain Huber be paid from the
I Gene ral Fund. It was moved by Commissioner SediVY. seconded by Commissioner
Staudaher. that the request be granted, and, it being in the public interest. the
expenses as aforementioned be paid from the General Fund. The motion was carried
by the fOllowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson. Commis-
sioner Sedivy and Commissioner Staudaher; those voting No. none.
Reports
The September and October reports of the Director of Public Service were

presen ted. Ass't. City Manager Fryslie reviewed the reports with the Commission
and recommended they be approved and filed. It was moved by Commissioner
Staudaher. seconded by Commissioner Sedivy. that the reports be approved and
orde red filed. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Mayor Swanson. Commissioner Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; I
those voting No. none.
Ad.1 ournmen t
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time
it was moved by Commissioner SediVY. seconded by Commissioner Staudaher. that
the meeting adjourn and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:
those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner
Staudaher; those voting No, none.
