Present were Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher, Commissioner Sedivy, City Manager Cutting. City Attorney Berg. Ass't. City Manager Fryslle and the Clerk. I The following proceedings Were had: Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commis. sioner Sedivy. seconded by Commissioner Staudaher. that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was oarried by the fo~lowing Aye and No vote: those vo ting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Staudaher; those voting No, none. Resolution No. 1036 -- Intention to Create Special Impro~'ement Lighting District No. 423 (South Black Ave.) The City Attorney, as inst~lcted, has prepared a resolution of intention to ,( create Special Improvement Lighting District No. 423. Revision of Fire Insurance Plan & Coverage During the Commission Meeting of December 13th, the CommisSion tabLed action on a proposed new plan for fire insurance coverage on City owned buildings. This new plan, known as the "Publ.ic Ins ti tu tional Property Form". is available only to I political subdivisions and civic organizations and was explained in detail by G. C. Wa i te, D. W. Bennett and Charles Vandenhook, Jr., representing the Bozeman Insurance Association. Af te r a thorough discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Sedi vy, seconded by Commissioner Staudaher, that submission of an application for the aforemen tioned new program be approved and the Mayor au thorized to sign such 19 application for the City; however, this action was not to be construed as a con- tract binding the City to accevt the insurance program until complete and detailed information in regard to the proposed coverage is presented for review and final Commission approval. 'The motion was carried by the fO-Llowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner I Staudane r; those voting No, none. Renova tion of Courtroom for Commiss ion Mee tlngs During the previous meeting of the Commission, permission was approved for expencli turos, contin~ent upon prior approva~ of the costs by the Co~nisslon, to reoondition the Courtroom. It was requested that the Commission approve the fO.L-Low- ing expenditures: $l60.u(J for the purchase and installation of ~if!;hts. $36.UO for paint and $30.00 for labor and sUPP-Lles to repair the floor. It was moved by Commissioner staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the expenditures be approved and the motion was carrled by the fo~lowing Aye and 'No vote: those vo ting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No. none. Water Meters -- Purchase The Ci t:, Manager reported th& t the Wa ter Department has need for an addi- tional SUPP.Ly of water meters and requested authorlty to place an order for thirty "3/4~ inch meters at a total approximate oost of $900.UO. It was moved by Commis- sioner Sedivy, seconded by Comm:lssioner Staudaher, that the City Manager be author- I ized to purchase the meters and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vo te : those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Staudaher; those voting No, none. It was moved by COMmissioner Sedivy, seconded by commissioner staudaher, that the above applications be approved and that the Director of Finance be directed to issue lioenses in accordance therewith and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Staudaher; those voting No. none. I Bonds of George Wellhouser -- Electrical and Plumbers A Gas Fitter's bond. a Plumbing bond and an ElectriCian's bond for George Wellhouser, Manhattan, Montana, all being a license requirement to permit those types of work within the City of Bozeman, Montana. we re pre s en te d . The bonds were approved as to form by the City Attorney. It was moved by Commissioner Staudaher. seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the bonds be approved and accepted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye 20 being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No. none. Report -- Director of Finance ( November, 1961) Tne November. 1961 report of the Director of Finance was presented. The City Manager stated the report indioated the financial operations of the City for the period appeared to be normal and recommended it be approved. It was moved by I Commissioner Staudaher, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy. that the report be approved and ordered filed and the mo tion was carried by tne fO..Llowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Staudaher and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Report of Cemetery Board Meeting The City Manager reported that the Sunset Hills Cemetery Board meet at 1:30 P.M. on the 14th of December. He enumerated and commented on the proceedings of the meeting which are recorded in the minutes of the Cemetery Board. It was moved by Commissioner SediVY, seconded by Comlnissioner Staudaner, that the Manager's report on the proceodings of the Cemetery Board be accepted and the motion was carried by the fO..L..Lowlng Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Swanson, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Staudaher; those voting No, none. Ma yor' s Remi ttance of Polioe Court Fine -- Johnson Mayor S.wanson notified the Commlssion that he had investigated the case of William JOhnson. defendant, the case being under the jurisdiction of the City Po~ice Court, and the t on December 2Uttl, Hcting wl-Chin the powers oonferred on nirn by Section Il-ljU2, R.C.M., 1947. he had granted to Wi~liam Johnson a pardon of the balance of the term to be served by him (being a ba.Lance of' 38 days) under and pursuen t to the judgement on conviction.
