The Comn1ission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room. City Hall
Building, Wednesday, 21 September 1966, at l:OO o'clock P.M. Present were Mayor Sedivy, Commissioner
Morrow, Commissioner Langohr, City Manager Cutting, City Attorney Berg and the Acting Clerk.
Commissioner Morrow opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had:

Minutes of the regular session held Wednesday, ltj, September 1966, were read and it was moved by
Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the minutes be approved as read and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr,
Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Authorization to purchase Fluoride Feeder (South Reservoir):
The City Manager stated that the Fluoride Feeder at the South Water Reservoir has deteriorated
beyond economic repair and requested authorization to purchase a replacement at an approximate cost
of $950.00. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the purchase
be authorized as requested and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Authorization to purchase "\vacker-Rar:mler" (Tamper)':'
The City Manager stated that the Water Department has need for a ne\" "Wacker-Rammer" tamping
machine for use in compacting trench fill and requested authorization to make the purchase at an
approximate cost of $900.00. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow,
that the purchase be authorized as requested and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No
vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Sedivy; those voting

no, none.
Boys S tate and Girls S tate Delegate Dinner:
Commissioner Morrow reported that he had attended a dinner held 19 September 1966, and sponsored
by the Bozeman American Legion Post No. 14 and its Auxiliary, honoring the delegates to the 1966
American Legion Boys State, held at Dillon, Montana, and the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State
held at Bozeman, Montana. Commissioner Morrow paid special tribute to the excellence of the comments
made by the delegates and commented on the high caliber of the young people present.
Protes t a'lc! AppeCll - Ci ty Taxi Iuc.,:
Mrs. Betty Sykes representing City Taxi Inc., was present and read to the Commission a letter
signed by Charles Sternhagen registering a protest to the establishment of a bus service in the City
of Bozeman and appealing to the City Commission for their consideration of the affect such a bus service
may have upon the business operation and revenue of the City Taxi. Mrs. Sykes was assured that the
position of the City Taxi would be given full consideration.

The City Manager commented on the reports and recommended their approval. It was moved by
Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the reports be approved .and ordered filed
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner
Langohr, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.

Mayor Sedivy recessed the meeting at 1: 50 0 I clock P.M.:
Mayor Sedivy reconvened the meeting at 2:32 o'clock P.M.~
Chamber of Commerce Bus Commi ttee - City Application for M. R.C. Permit:
Louis Spain Jr., Jack Hallam, H. H. Kirchoff, and Guy Sperry of the Chamber of Commerce Bus
Committee appeared before the Commission with Mr. F. B. 'Bud' Fisher representing the Montana
Railroad and Public Service Commission, to discuss a request of the committee that the City of
Bozeman apply for an M.R.C. Permit to operate a bus service within the City of Bozeman and in turn
enter into a lease for the operation by a private operator under the provisions of Sections ll-l020
and ll-102l as explained by the City Attorney. Advantages of the City holding such a permit were
brought forward by the Chamber Committee and a concensus was expressed that the operation of a
bus service should not jeopardize business volume of the Taxi Company and that all concerned were
determined to ensure this community continues to have taxi service available. Following the dis-
cuss ion, it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that submission
of an application by the City of Bozeman to the Railroad and Public Service Commission for a permit
to operate a bus service within the City of Bozeman be authorized and the motion was carried by
the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and
Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Adjournment:
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the meeting he adjourned and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Comm-
issioner Morrow and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.
