The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday, 26 October 1966, at 1:30 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Sedivy, Commissioner
and the Clerk.

Mayor Sedivy opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the regular session held Wednesday, 19 October 1966, were read and it was moved by
Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the minutes be approved as read and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow,
COmmissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Examination of Deposi to.!L Bonds:
In compliance with the provisions of Section l6-26l8, R. C. M., 1947, the City Commission pro-
ceeded to examine the receipts for Depository Bonds and Securities held by the Director of Finance as
Security for City Funds deposited in Bozeman banks. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded
by Commissioner Morrow, that the securities be approved as corrected and a list thereof be set forth
in full in the minutes of this meeting and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:
Those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.

This is to certify that we, the Commissi.on of The City of Bozeman in compliance with the
provisions of Section l6-26l8 R. c. M., 1947, have this day examined the receipts of the
Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, and the National Bank of Commerce, Seattle, Washington.
for the Depository Bonds held by the Director of Finance as security for the deposit of
City of Bozeman funds by the several banks of Bozeman and find them to be as above stated,
are hereby accepted and approved.

A written request from Jim Walters, Student Body President of Bozeman Senior High School, for
permission to stage a "Snake Dance" on Main Street on F iday, 28 October 1966, 8:00 o'clock p.m. was
presented. The Acting Chief of Police stated that to his knowledge the event would not create a traffic
problem and the Police Department have been asked to escort them down Main Street. It was moved by
Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that permission to stage the event be approved
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow,
Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.

ABLISHING A CIVIL SERVICE BOARD OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS THEREOF, ESTABLISHING
THE TERM OF THEIR OFFICE, PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES, POWERS
AND JURISDICTION OF SAlD BOARD AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREFOR.
prepared by the City Attorney as directed by the Commission was presented. Tn concurrence with the
recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner
Morrow, that the resolution be passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Sedivy;
those voting No, none.
Appointment of Civil Service Board for Selection of Chief of Police:
In accordance with the foregoing Commission Resolution No. 1312 and in concurrence with the
Commissioners R. Harry Morrow and Don M. Langohr, Jr., Mayor Sedivy announced the Commission appoint-
ment of the following individuals to serve as the subject Civil Service Board with terms as indicated:

Mayor Sedivy then requested that the Board meet at the earliest possible date and that City
Attorney Berg meet with the Board to explain its powers and duties as well as the intent of the City
Conmission in this action.

It was reported that Carl A. Beyer had requested that he not be again re-apoointed to the Planning
Board due to conflicts with other commitments. Mayor Sedivy in turn announced his appointment of

Harold C. Rose for the three year term ending 30 June 1969. The City Manager concurred in the
appointment or re-appointment of the Mayor and it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by
Commissioner Langohr, that the above appointments be approved and the motion was carried by the
following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and
Mayor Sedivy~ those voting No, none.
