HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-11-23 454: Bozeman, Montana 23 Noveraber 196(\ The Corr.mission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, WednesdRY, 23 November 1966, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr, City Manager Cutting, Ass't City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Mayor Sedivy opened the meeting with a prayer and the follow proceedings were had: Minutes of the re~11ar session held Wednesday, 16 November 1966, were read and it was moved b~ Commissioner Langohr. seconded by Mayor Sedivy, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: thosp voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. AbsC'llce of CormnisB Loner j:"Iorrm'J: In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Mayor Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the absence of Commissioner MorrOlI7 be authorized in compliance with Section 2.08-060 of the Bozeman Municipal Code. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sedivy, and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none. Author..L,~to attend Interim Legi[;lat~Jre Sub-Committee - Helena 25 Nov. 1966 - City l'Iaaagcr: The Interim Legislature has scheduled a meeting to be held in Helena on Friday, 25 November 1966, for which invitations were extended to City Officials and to the Police and Firemen Association by Don Sorte, Executive Director of the Montana Lagislative Council. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the Council's proposed new retirement program for Police and Firemen and amending the present Polic~ and Firemen's Retirement laws to improve present programs until phaser1 out. I t was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Sedivy, that the City Manager be authorized to attend the meeting and that the Assistant City Manager be designated as acting City Manager during the absence of the City Manager and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. Authorization to Invest jvjiscellaneous funds ~j21l,OOO.OO - Director of Fin8nce: The City Manager informed the Commission that the Di:t;"ector of Finance had requested authority to re-invest Miscellaneous funds in the amount of $2l1,000.00 as follows: $100,000.00 SID Funds for approximately 150 days in Certificates of Deposit. 100,000.00 Miscl. Funds in u.s. Treasury Bills for approximately 60 days. 10,000.00 CPC Funds in U.S. Treasury Bonds, due l1/1S/71. 1,000.00 Park Land Trust Funds in U.S. Treasury Notes, due 11/15/70. In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Mayor Sedivy, se- condec1 by Commissioner Langohr, that the investments as requested be authorized and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none. !{cquest for Intersection~ht -:- Black & Taruarack - GalL,tin County Far Board: A request from the Gallatin County Fair Board for permission to install a street light on the corner of North Black Avenue and East Tamarack Street was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Sedivy, that authority to install the light be granted and that investi- gaUon be made for the most appropriate location for the installation of the light and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye befng Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.
