HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-09-01 Bozeman, Montana 1 September 1966 S P E C I A L M E E TIN G --------------- 1 Pursuant to call in compliance with the provisions of Section ll-3249, R.C.M., 1947, and Section 2.08.060 of the Bozeman Municipal Code, the City of Bozeman ment in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, in Special Session, Thursday, 1 September 1966, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr, Acting City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Commissioner Morrow opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: To study and review the Park-Recreation program of the City of Bozeman: The stated purpose of the meeting was to study and review the Park-Recreation program of the City of Bozeman. The interested citizens present were as follows: John G. Parker, Maynard Simenson, Dan Archer, D. W. Hutchinson, George T. Marinkovich, Leo Hoffart, Bill Hunt, Guy Sperry, Rev. Leonard Kovar, Oswald Berg, Jr., Eleanor H. Lamb and Dr. A. E. McChesney. Also attending the meeting were Walter Secor of the Bozeman Daily Chronicle and Dan Johnson of KXXL Radio. A lengthy discussion of the proposed Swimming Pool Project as submitted by the Chamber of Commerce Swimming Pool Planning Committee, together with related aspects of the City's Park and Recreation program was had. I Following this discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Lan- gohr, that the City Commission approve, in principle, the recommendations of the Chamber of Commerce Swimming Pool Master Planning Committee and make every effort to resolve all necessary and related matters on or before 1 April 1967 to permit holding a special bond election for financing park- Recreation facilities and improvements at the earliest possible date. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. AdJournment: There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the meeting be adjourned, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner MOrrow and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.
