HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-07-27 401 :Sozeman, Montana 27 July 1966 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, 27 July 1966, at l:OO o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr, City Manager Cutting, Ass't. City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg 1 and the Clerk. Commissioner Morrow opened the meeting with a prayer, and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the last regular session held Wednesday, 20 July 1966, were read and it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the minutes be approved as read, and the mOtion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. Resolution No. 1289: Hearing - Levying assessment for SID No. 458 - Sanitary Sewer, Final Passage: This was the time and place set for hearing protests to levying assessment for Special Im- provement District No. 458. Affidavit of publication of Notice was presented. No one was present to protest and no protests having been filed, Resolution No. 1289, provisionally passed and adopted at the regular session held 20 July 1966, was presented for final passage. In concur ranee with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner MorroW, that the resolution be finally passed and adopted, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Sedivy, those voting No, none. Authority to Invest Funds: $176,000.00 - Miscellaneous & SDS funds: I It was reported by the Director of Finance that $lOO,OOO.OO Miscellaneous funds and $26,000.00 SDS funds now invested in U.S.Treasury Bills, and $50,000.00 Miscellaneous funds now invested in Certificates of Deposit have matured and he has requested authority to reinvest the funds in like securities. It being in the public interest, the City Manager concurred with the request of the Director of Finance and recommended that authority to reinvest the funds as requested be granted. It was m moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the reinvestments as requested be authorized, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. Ordinance No. 862: Appropriation (1966-67) Budget: The City Manager reviewed the proposed budget for the fiscal year ending 30 June 1967, and Ordinance No. 862 was presented, entitled: ORDINANCE NO. 862 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR EXPENDITURES DEEMED NECESSARY AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH BUDGETARY REQUIREMENTS FOR MAINTENANCE ETC., OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVENRMENT OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30TH, 1967. 1 It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the Ordinance No. 862 be provisionally adopted and August 3, 1966, be set as the date for public hearing and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner MOrrow and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. Reports for June: The following reports were presented: Director of Public Service Director of Finance ll()~ The City Manager commented on the reports and recommended their approval. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the reports be approved, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. J. C. Model T. Race - 27 August 1966: A letter received from Manuel Santos, Chairman of the Model T. Race Committee, for permission to conduct a '~odel T. Race" 27 August 1966, to begin at the Beaver Pond and proceed on Highway No. 191 to the Norris bridge and back to the Beaver Pond was presented. It was moved by Comm- issioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the above request be granted and the Police Department be informed of any change in schedule in order that it will in no way interfere with the normal traffic on West Main Street, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. Adjournment: There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the meeting be adjourned and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.
