HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-01-05 292 Bozeman, M~ntana 5 January 1966 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session In the Comm- ission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, 5 January 1966, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Sedivy, CommissIoner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr, City Manager Cutting, Ass't City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. CommIssioner Morrow opened the meeting wi th a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the last regular session held Monday, 3 January 1966, were read and it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. Street Lighting Agreements - Montana Power Company: S.I.L.D. No. 453 - N. 20th Ave., S.I.L.D. No. 459 - N. 8th, 9th, 10~h and llth Ave., S.I.L.D. No. 460 - N. 7th Ave. Three agreemen ts prepared by the Mcm tana Power Company cover Ing the Stree t Lighting in District No's. 453, 459 and 460 were presented to the Commission. In discussing the agreements, the Commission were informed that the provisions set forth coincide with the Resolution of Intention. In concurrence with the recommend- a tion of The Ci ty Manager, it was moved by Commis s loner Morrow, seconded by Commiss inner Langohr, that the contract agreements with the Montana Power Company for the in- stallation anr1 maintainance of Special Improvement District No's. 453, 459 and 460 be approved, and that the Mayor and the Clerkof the Commission be authorized to sign for the City, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissinner Morrow, Commissioner Langobr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. Lux Transfer & Storage: C.M. "Jack" Newman - Jcmes property: Mr. G. M. ".Jack" Newman of the Lux Transfer & Storage, leasee of the former Jnes property at West Mendenhall Street and North Willson Avenue recently pur- chased by the City of Bozeman, appeared before the City Commission to discuss any plans he may have for vacating the premises. Mr. Newman having informed the Commission that he has no concrete plans for moving at this time, was requested to appear before the CommissLon again on February 2, 1966, regardIng a more specific moving time. Mr. Newman was also informed that for the time being the rental of $150.00 per month would remain the same as in the past and would be payable to the C1 ty of Bozeman. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, sec'"mded by Commissioner Morrow that the above request for Mr. Newman to appear before the Commlss ion again on 2 February 1966 be approved and the mo tion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Sedivy; those votlng No, none. Montan~ Physicians Service:' City participation: The City Commission further discussed the matter of City participation in the group hospi talization plan which a number of employees now have with the I I I .1 Montana Physicians Service. The City Manager explained that 63 employees out of the 90 regular City employees, as shown by the December payroll, signed the peti tion circulated which indicated that more than two thirds of the present em- ployees would favor the group plan if City participation was established. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that pending re- ceipt of a"J.ditional information from the insurer, the above matter be taken under study and consideration before making a final "Jecision, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Cow.missioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. Reports for December: The following reports were presented for December: Disposal Plant Operator Wa ter Collec tor Fire Chief Cashier's Report The City Manager commented on the reports and recommended their approval. Claims for December: Claim No's. 3612 thru 3838 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: I General $2l, 908.19 Garbage $ 4,836.74 Street 7,134.33 Parking Meter 1,092.55 Water 11,920.98 Police Reserve 774.55 S.D.S. 5,768.50 Cemetery Suspense 90.00 Library 1,954.45 P.E.R.S. 988.35 P lann ing Board 30.00 S.l.D. 36,609.62 Park 4,645.15 Munc.Bldg.Const 27,176.42 Cemetery 1,122.79 Driver Educ. 354.00 Band 12.50 Total $126,419.12 The C i t Y Manager commented on the claims and found them to be true and law- ful claims against the City of Bozeman and recommended that they be 8Pproved and the Director of Finance be directed to issue warrants in payment. After examin- ation of the claims in detail and checking against the Claim register, it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Lanaohr, that the claims be approved and the motion was carried by the follow~ng Aye and No vote: those voting Aye be ing Comm 1 ss ioner Mov;y'oW, Commiss ioner Langohr'_lDd Ma yor Sedivy; thos e voting No, none.
