HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-10-13 253 Bozeman, Montana Oc tober 13, 1965 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Ha 1 Building, Wednesday, 13 October 1965, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr, City Manager Cutting, I Ass't_City Manager Fryslie, Acting City Attorney Angel 8nd the Clerk. Commissioner Langohr opened the meeting with a prayer and the following pro- ceedings were had: Minutes of the last regular session held Wednesday, 6 October 1965, were read and it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, tha t the minu tes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those vo t:i rg No, none. Resolu tion No. 1243 Specia 1 Tax Levy for s idewa lks & curbs - Final Passage. This was the time and place set for hearing on levying assessment for the cos t of repa ir, replacement or construction of sidewalks for the year 1965, in the amount of $4,711.73. Affidavit of publication of Notice was presented. No one was present to protest and no written protests having been filed, Resolution No. 1243, as presented and provisionally passed at the meeting of October 6, 1965, was pre- sented for final passage. It was moved by Commis s ioner Sedivy, seconded by Comm- issioner Langohr, that the resolution be finally passed and adopted and the motion I was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissinner Sedivy a nd Commissioner Langohr; thos e voting No, non e . Electrician's License Bond: Midland Electric Co., Billings. In Compliance with Chapter 15 of the Bozeman Municipal Code, the ele c tri ca I bond of Midland Electric Co., Billings, Montana, was presented for approval. The City Manager reported that the Building Inspector had recommended approval of the bond and the City Attorney approved the bond as to form. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commiss ioner Sedivy, tha t the bond be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, non e . Plumber's License Bond: George Jensen, Dba 4 G Plumbing & Heating - Missoula In Compliance with Chapter 16 of the Bozeman Municipal Code, the plumbing bond of George Jensen, Dba 4 G Plumbing and Heating, Missoula, Montana was presented. for approve 1. The City Manager reported that The Building Inspector had recommended approval of the Bond and The Ci ty A ttorney had approved the bond as to fonn. Opening Bozeman creek Watershed to public in 1968. Mr. Robert S. Gibson, Dis trict Ranger Galla tin National Forest of the U. S. Forest Service, appeared before the Commission to announce the ir plans for opening the Bozeman Creek Watershed to the public in 1968. Mr. Gibson explained that the 254 plans call for stage development of roads and recreation facilities over the next three-year period. The recreation site plans are being formulated and the construction of a public road into the designated area is planned beginning in 1966 and proposed to be completed by the fall of 1968 . Until the t time the Boze- man Creek area will remain closed to public use in 0 rder to assure safety to the I public during the construction period. Mayor Morrow thanked Mr. Gibson for pre- senting these proposals to the Commission. Cen tral PTA Dave Hamil ton. Mr. Da. ve Hamil ton, Chairman of the Central Council PTA Traffic Committee appeared before the Commission to request a status report on the PTA reque s ts for school crossing and other traffic controls at the City Schools. He was again informed the t the traffic lights on North Seventh Avenue are under study by the State Highway Department who are attempting to work them in with the existing con- tract of Schultz and Lindsay and tba t the highway officials are very optimistic that it will be accomplished. Mr. Hamilton was also assured that further actions to protect all families continues in an effort to improve the 8 i tu a ti on .
