The Commission of t he City of Bozeman met in regular sessior: in the Commission
Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, 9 June 1965, at 1:00 Of clock p.m. present were
Ma yor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr, City Manager Cutting, Ass't I
City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk.
Mayor Morrow opened the meeting with a prayer and the following prooeedings
were had:
Minutes of the last regular session held Wednesday, 2 June 1965, were read

West Park Manor - Residence on beall Street between 19 & 21st AVenue.
Mr. J. Thomas rlcCusker, Mr. W.O. Gilleland and Mr. Harold Arnold, residents
of West Beall street between North 19th and North 21st Avenue appeared to protest
being included in any special improvement district effecting their property as had
been requested by the West park Manor developers, because it was alleged tha t pa;ynent
for all such improvements had been included in the purchase pr ice paid for the lots.
The delegation was informed that no actiO!' on the matter had been taken and that
they vilould be officially advised of any steps taken to construct. any street and I
utility improvement district that would include the ir property.
Peti tioD topave Durston Road from 7th to 11th Avenue.
!vIr. Joseph A. Mc)uire, President of Ralphs Thtiftway, Inc., appeared tn inquire
what steps would be necessary to accomplish paving of Durston Road from 7th to 11th
avenue.
He was requested to obtain a peti tion from property owners on this street re-
requesting such an improvement to permit the Commission to properly consider the IDa tter.
Mr. McGuire also complained about the displa y of "Honda" mo tore ycles at t he
corner of Babcock Street and Rouse Avenue.
Pari<ing on South !?ozem8n - between the 100 and 200 block.
Mrs. Owen Girven and Mr. H. T. Powers were present to report on the parking
situation on South Bozeman between the 100 and 200 block and complain that it is
not only hard to get in and ou t of drivewa Y8, but the confined traffic is also
dangerou"s as far as ohildren are concerned. They felt that removal of parking from
one side of the street would lessen t heir problem in many ways.
After discussing the request of Mrs. Girven and Mr. Powers the Commission I
agreed that we are faced with a parking problem and a very congested and unsatis-
factory traffic situation in this area, and stated that a continuing study 1s being
made in an effort to determ:.ne a solu tion.

more economical and efficient. The affidavit of publication of the Notice to Bijders
was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy,
that the bids be opened and read and referred to the City Engineer for tabulation
study ~nd recommendation, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:
those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those

Commissioner Sedivy excused from regular meetin~ - National Guard: two weeks.
It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Morrow, the t Commis si oner
Sedivy be excused from the regular meeting of the City Commission on the 16th and 23rd
of June to attend the National Guard and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow and Commissioner Langohr; thos e
voting No, none.
Authority to purchase 32 (thirty-two ) 3/4" Water Meters - Approximately $950.00.
The City Manager reported that the Water Department has need for additional
Bupp+yof 3/4" water meters and requested authori ty to purchase thirty-two water meters
at an approximate cost of $950.00. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by
Commissioner Langohr, that the purchase be authorized and the motion was carried by

The City Manager commented on the claims and stated he had audited them and found
them to be true and lawful claims against the City of Bozeman and recommended that they
be approved and the Director of Finance be directed to issue warrants in payment. After
examine. ti on of the claims in detail and checking against the cle.irr register, it was
I moved by Comm1ss10ner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, tha t the c l8.1ms be
approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting

voting No, none.
Adjournment.
There being no further bus.:iness to come before the CO!T1..mission. it was moved
