The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission
Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, 7 July 1965, at l:OO o'clock p.m. Present
were Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedi vy, Commissioner Langohr, City Manager Cutting,
Asa't City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. I'
Commissioner Langohr opened the meeting wi th a prayer and t he following pro-
ceedings were had:
Minutes of the last regular seasion held WedneSday, 30 June 1965, were read
and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commis sioner Langohr, that
the minutes be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:
those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commis si oner Sedi vy and CO':1lmiasi oner Langohr;
those voting No, TIc-me.
Authorization to attend Police Chief's Assoc. - Great Falls, 9 July - Chief Saunders.
It was reported that a meeting of the Police Chief's Association is scheduled
to be held in Great Falls, July 9, 1965, and in concurrence with the recommendation
of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Langobr, seconded by Commissioner
Sedi vy, that Police Chief Saunder's attendance at the meeting be authorized,and, it
being in the public interest, his expenses be paid from the General fund. The motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow,
Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none.
Parking on 411 West Garfield: I
Mrs. Elva Cowan was present to report on the parking situation in front of
their home at 411 West Garfield. She exp la ined tha t there are tbr ee fra terni ties
in that one block with not enough parking space and it is practically impossible
to safely back aut of the driveways. Mra. Cowan reques tad the removal of parking
in front of their home.
After discussing the request of Mrs. Cowan, the Commission agreed that they
are faced with a serious parking problem and a very congested traffic situation in
this area and stated that a continuing study is being made in an effort to determine
a solution. They advised tha t they would a t least paint a red line on the curb on
each side of the Cowan driveway to provide some protection and traffic safety.

(b) Gas Fi tter
The electrician and gas fitter bonds of John L. Shaffer, dba Shaffer Con-
struction, Bozeman, Montana, wer'e presented. The h:mds having been approved by

the City Building Inspector and as to form by the City Attorney, it was moved by
Commissioner Sedi vy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, the t the ann tinua tion of the I
aforementioned bonds be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor. Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Comm-
issioner Langobr; thos e vo ting No, none.
Ordinance No. 852: Repealing Ordinance No. 658 prohibit dancing on premises
licensed for the retail sale of beer.
It was reported that in keeping with the City continuing program of updating

ordinances, Ordinance No. 658, prohibiting danclng on premises licensed for the
retail sale of beer, does not appear to b~ realistic and the City Attorney has pre-
pared Ordinance No. 852 which would repeal that section of Ordinance No. 658 setting
forth such prohibition.

AN ORDINANCE REPEALING; SECTI-iN 4.04.070 OF THE
BOZEMAN MUNICIPAL CODE.RELATING TO THE PROHI-
BITION OF DANC~NG ON PREMISES LICENSED :BUR THE
RETAIL SALE OF-,',BEER. .
The consensus being that such,Qction gppeared to be in the best interest of
the public, it was moved by Commissioner La,ngohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedi vy,
that the Ordinance be provisionally passed and presented on 14 July 1965, for final
passage, and the motion was carried'by the following Aye and No vote: thos voting
Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting
No, none.

The City Manager commented on the' reports and recommended their approval. It

The City Manager commented on the claims, explaining a number of the larger ones
in detail and stated he had audited them and found them to be true and lawful cIa ims
against the City of Bozeman and recommended that they be approved and the Director of
Finance be di rec ted to issue warrants in pa ymen t. After examina ti on of t he claims
I in detail and checking against the claim register, it was moved by Commissioner
Langohr , seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the claims be approved and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vo te: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow,
Commissi8ner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none.

There being no further business to come before the Commission, it was moved by
