The Cdmmission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, met in regular session in the
Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, 17 March, 1965, at 1:00 o'clock p.m.
Present were Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr, City Manager
Cutting, Ass't City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. I
Commissioner Langohr opened the meeting with a prayer and the following
proceedings were had:
Minutes of the last regular session held March 10, 1965, were read and it
was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Larigohr, that the minutes
be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:

those voting No, none.
Request for M.S&~ Rodeo Parade 1:00 p.m. Saturday, 24. April 1965.
A request from the Montana State College Rodeo Club for permission to stage
a parade from Bogart's Grove to West Main Street and thence westerly to the High
School on Saturday, April 24, 1965, at 1:00 o'clock P.M. was presented. It was
moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that permission be
granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting
No, none.

It was reported that the I1Major Case School" conducted by the Montana Law
Enforce~eDt Academy is scheduled to be held April 4th thru the 10th. 1965, and the
"Basic School" is to be scheduled for May 9th thru the 22nd, at Montana State College.
Chief of Police Vernon Saunders has requested authorization to submit the application
of Sgt. Clif Dorman to attend the "Major Case School," and Patrolmen Dwain Wortman
and Donald Strang to attend the "Basic School. II The City Manager recommended the~
submission of applications of the aforementioned members of the Police Department be
approved and if accepted, it being in the public interest, the expenses of the students
be charged against the general fund. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded
by Commissioner Langohr, that the recommendation of the City Manager be approved and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none.

It was reported the American Water WorRs Association's annual meeting for I
the State of Montana is scheduled to be held in Butte, 24-27 March, 1965, and
the City Manager requested that Ralph Dunahoo, Water Superintendent also be
authorized to attend the meeting, In concurrence with the City Manager's re-
commendation, it was ~oved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy,

that the Wa~er Superintendent be authorized to attend the conference and, it being

in the public interest, his expenses be charged to the appropriate City fund.

be passed amd adopted and the corrected deed from the A. D. A. Corporation be accepted

This was the time and place set for the sale of bonds of Special Improvement
I District No. 452. Affidavit of publication of the notice of sale of bonds was pre-
sented by the City Manager.
The Mayor outlined the proceedure for conducting this bond sale and stated

the sale of bonds would be made subject to the awarding of the construction contract
by the State Highway Commission and announced the City was ready to conduct oral
bidding on the bonds of Special Improvement District No. 452 in the amount of
$185,000.00 to provide the Cityfs share of the project cost.
The following bidders qualified by depositing with the Clerk of the Commission
the necessary bid security.

and Hopwood - Minneapolis, Minnesota, being the lowest and best bid submitted, the

& Hopwood, contingent upon the award of the construction contract by the State

The request of Oscar Dean of 620 North Rouse Avenue for vacating the alley

in Block 119 of the Northern Pacific Addition was again presented. The Commission
had inspected the subject alley and following a further discussion of the request,
the City Manager recommended the vacation of the alley be denied but that a "use"
permit by proper agreement be approved. In concurrence with the recommendation
of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner
Langohr, that the request for vacating the alley be denied and a "use" permit
agreement, prepared in accordance with Chapter 11_3312 R.C.M.-1947 be approved,
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting
no, none. I

The City Manager presented a petition signed by residents in the immediate "
vicinity of South Fifth Avenue and Hayes Street, which requested that the City
install a street light at the corner. In concurrence with the recmmmendation of
the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissionr

Langohr, that the Montana Power Company be authorized and requested to install
