HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-09-09 ,8 Bozeman~ Monilana September 9thl 1964 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Rooml City Hall Building, Wednesday# September 9, 1964 at l;pO o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Morrowl Commissioner SediVYI Commissioner Langohr, City Manager Cuttingl Asstt. City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Commissioner Langohr opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy# seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the minutes as read by approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Authorization to Attend Municinal Lea[!;ue Convention __'"'''Ol''''''' """'1>',."...'._.'"_,. ."'..._."._......"..''''.._,__''...........,__,_.,......'''_.._,.....:::=;..."._,__",___...._.,._.".1_'..._",,_ Q.~~6:~.$.?~ It was reported the Montana Municipal League has scheduled a convention to be held September lOth and 11th, at Glasgowl and the City Manager requested that members of the City Commission and he be authorized to attend the oonvention. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seoonded by Commissioner Sedivy# that authorization for the officials oited to attend the convention be granted and, it being in the public interest, the travel expenses inourred b~ paid from the General fund. The motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrowl Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. The City Manager reported that George Hubbard, proprietor of the City-Center Motel, had requested that North Fifth street be widened from West Main Street north one-half <i) block. The City Manager recommended that Mr. Hubbard be granted permission to widen the street but without City participation in the costs of the project other than the engineering services performed by the City Engineer. It was moved by Commdssioner SediVYI seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that permission to widen the street be granted to Mr Hubbard as reoommended and the motion was carried by the following Alfe and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrowl Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Langohrl seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the Women of the Moose be granted permission" as requested, to conduct a balloon sale on Main street on October 17th. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrowl Commissioner Langohr and Commiss ioner Sedivy; those voting NOI none. Authorization for Vacation g.~.!y ManaGer < 1!:.2!-2,. ..?_r:pt::.n:.~!!l At the request of City Manager Cutting, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commission Langohr, that he be granted vacation during the period September 14th to 2lst, and that Ass't. City Manager Fryslie be designated as Acting City Manager during the period. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those vohng Aye being Mayor Morrowl Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting NOI none. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No votes those voting Aye being :Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Mountain states Conference of Musicians .~is~_~~r Se~}-_"2: Mayor Morrow and Commissioner Langohr requested that it be noted in the minutes of this meeting the Mountain States Conference of Musician's appointment of Connnissioner Sedivy as its pres ident:. Additional Claim for Month of Augus~_ The following; claim Nos. 11246 to 11272, inolusivel were presented on the various funds as follows: Fund Amount Fund Amount General $11849.55 Street 65.67 Water 1,089.29 S.D.S. 68.51 Library 54.74 Park 447.38 Cemetery 160.48 Garbage 170.84 Parking Meter 32.22 Planning Board 20.00 Total 3~958.68 The City Manager commented on the claims and stated he had audited them and found them to be true and lawful olaims against the City of Bozeman and recommended that they be approved and the Director of Finance directed to issue warrants in payment. After examination of the olaims in detail andohecking against the claim register, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohrl that all claims as presented be approved and the motion v~s carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy, those voting NOI none. Reports for August were presented as follows: Disposal Plant Operator Librarian Building Inspector Sanitation Fluoridation Fire Chief Polioe Judge Polioe Chief Cashier Swimming Pool The City Manager commented on the reports and recommended their approval and it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner SediVYI that the reports be approved and ordered filed. The motion was oarried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. ~dj 0~E-!~~..!.
