Mayor Morrow opened the meeting with a prayer and the following I 20 Bozeman, Momtana September 3uth, 1864 The Commission of The City of Bozeman met in regular session in tne Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, September 3u, 1964 at 1 :OU o'clock p..m. Present were Mayor Morrowl Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr, City Manager Cut-r.ing, Ass't. City Manager Fryslie, City Attiorney proceedings were had: Minutes of the last regular session were read and it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the minutes as read be approved and the motion was carried by tne fOLlowing Aye and No vot;e: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Conunissioner Langohrj those voting No, none. Municipal Building Facility Acquisition of New Site The City Manager advised tne Commission tuat, as a mel::lns of providing a larger and more desireable site for the City's new Municipal Building Facility, James C. and Joan L.. Ray hl::ld informallY submitted a proposal that tne City 01' Bozeman trade its present building site located on the East; end of BloCk "C" of the Original Townsite of Bozem~n, for the Ray property diagonally across Main Street, being Lot No's. Ten (lu) to Ninet;een (18), incJ.usive, Block "F" of Rouse's Firs'G Add1t;ion tu the City, C1.nd that tile I City would be alLowed to Occupy the Ray pruperty during tne construction of the new Building Facility for a period not to exceed two (2) years on a rent free status, providj.ng the City agree to turn over to Mr. and Mrs. Ray the present C1t;y property with the existing City HC1.11 removed andtne slte c~8ared.. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Connnissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those votlng No, none. Cons Ide'ra tion of One (1) Ton Truck Bids Opened 9/23/64, Park-Ceme tery Dept' s . The COl1'1mission was referred to its opening of bids on September 23rd, for the purchase of a one-ton truck Chassis_and cab for use by the Park- Cemetery Departments. Authority to Purchase Water Meters The City Manager reported the Water Department has need for an additional supply of (3/4") water meters and requested authority to purchase thirty-f'our (34) of the meters at approximately $29.00 each. It was moved by Commissioner SedivYI seconded by Commissioner Langohrl that tne purchase be authorized and the motion Was carried by the fOllowing Aye and No vote: those vo t::..ng Aye being Mayor Morrowl Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none. AWWA Management Seminar Authority to Attend OVa ter Supt..) The City Manager reported an AW'vVA Management Seminar has been sctleduled to be held in Seattle, Washingtonl from_October 25th to the 30thl and requested that Water Superintendent Dunahoo be authorized to attend.. It was moved by COllU'niSsioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the authorization as requested be granted and the expenses incurred be Charged to the Water fund. The motion was carried by the fo.llowing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none. August Report of Director of Finance The Director of Finance's report for the month of August, 1964 was presented. After comments on the report by the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner SediVY, seconded by Commissioner Langohrl that the report be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrowl Commissioner Sedivy 22 Cancellation of Heating License Bond Brown Plumbing & Heating A notice of cancellation from the American Casualty, the bonding companYI which stated the Master Plumber's Bond of Brown Plumbing and Heating Company will be cancelled effective October 28, 1964, was presented. The notice of cancellation was approved as to form by the City Attorney, and it was moved by Commiss loner Langohr, seconded by Connnissioner Sedivy, that the cancellation of the bond be approved effective as of October 28, 1964, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. Adoption of a Flag for the City of Bozeman (City-wide Design Contest) Discussed was the adoption of an official flag for the City of Bozeman and a City-wide contest for its design. The matter was tabled for future stud y. Improvement of Alleys The City Manager reported he had been contacted regarding the City's fu ture plans for the cons true tion and maintenance of alle ys wi tnin the City, and was instructed to continue to co-operate with the property owners as in the past. Disposal of Junk Car Bodies The problem of the disposal of junk car bodies loca ted wi thin the C1 ty and surrounding area was discussed and tabled for study'. Mayor Morrow 3rd Vice-President of Montana Municipal League Comnnssioners Sedivy and Langonr expressed their congratulations to Mayor Morrow in his being elected to the 3rd Vice-Presidency of the Montana Municipal League. Adjournmen t There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the meeting adjourn.
