HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-03-04 469 Bozeman, Montana 4 March 1970 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal Building, 4 March 1970, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Langohr, Commissioner Morrow, Comm- issioner Sedivy, City Manager Fryslie, Ass't. City Manager Keyes, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Commissioner Morrow opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: I Minutes of the regular session held 25 February 1970 were read and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohrj those voting No, none. Consideration of Bids Flusher-Vacuum Unit: The Commission was referred to the opening of bids for the truck mounted Flusher-Vacuum Unit for use by the Street Department. The bids having been studied in detail by the City Engineer and the Street Superintendent, it was found that the bids of Pioneer Equipment and Supply, Butte, Montana, and Studer, Inc., Billings, Montana, were the only two bids that conformed with or exceeded the specifications of the "Call for Bids." The City Manager concurred with the City Engineer, the Street Superintendent and the City Attorney, recommending that the purchase be awarded to Pioneer Equipment and Supply, Butte, Montana, on the basis of their bid in the amount of $31,374.00, it being the lowest bid conforming with the specifications as contained in the "Call for Bids." Following a thorough discussion, the Commission concurred with the recommendation of the City Manager and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the purchase I of the truck mounted Flusher-Vacuum Unit be awarded to the Pioneer Equipment and Supply of Butte, Montana, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Comm- issioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor LBngohr; those voting No, none. Proclamation - Girl Scout Week 8-14 March 1970: Mayor Langohr announced his proclamation designating the week of 8-14 March 1970, as Girl Scout Week recognizing fifty-eight years of Service to girls aged seven thru seventeen and urged all citizens to support this worthy youth organization. It was moved by Commissioner rlorrow, se- conded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the Mayor's proclamation be endorsed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy, and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Reports: The following reports were presented for February: Director of Public Service Fire Chief Director of Finance Police Judge Building inspector Fluoridation Librarian The City Manager commented on the above reports and recommended the approval thereof. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the reports be approved and order- I filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commiss- ioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Claims for February 1970: Claim No's. 6711 thru 6992 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: 470 General $27,688.82 Garbage $ 6,451. 77 S tree t 6,694.30 Parking Meter 1,178.50 Water 11 ,409.91 Police Reserve 1,532.70 SDS 6,944.86 Cemetery Suspense 80.00 Library 2,574.16 PERS 1,751.77 Planning Board 191.00 SID No. 470 125.00 Park 2,501. 25 New Sewer Construction 3,531. 38 I cemetery 2,778.65 Cem. perm. Care 7,550.00 Band 25.00 $83,009.07 The City Manager checked the claims and found them to be true and lawful claims against the City of Bozeman and recommended they be approved and the Director of Finance be directed to issue warrants in payment. It was moved by Commissioner MorroW, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the claims be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Ad journment: There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the meeting be adjourned and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commiss- ioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none.
