The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal
Building, 24 December, 1969, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr,
City Manager Fryslie, Ass't City Manager Keyes, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk.
Commissioner Langohr opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the regular session held 17 December, 1969, were read, and it was moved by Commiss-
ioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Morrow, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr and Mayor
Morrow; those voting No, none.
Absence of Comll!.~ss loner Sed ~--=-- 24 _..Q.ec:~ml)~969:
In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Mayor Morrow,
seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the absence of Commissioner Sedivy, on 24 December, 1969,
be authorized in compliance with Section 2.08.060 of the Bozeman Municipal Code. The motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow and Commissioner
Langohr; those voting No, none.
Authority to Purchase CMC Handi-Van~~l.ic Service._& Engineering D~artment:..._$2.248.45:
The City Manager reported that the Public Service Department and the Engineering Department
has need for a new vehicle as the one now being used has deteriorated beyond repair and requested
authority to purchase a new C.M.C. Handi-Van at an approximate cost of $2,248.45. It was moved by
Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Morrow, that authority to purchase the G.M.C. Handi-Van at
the price indicated above be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:
those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.

A Warranty Deed conveying from Anna Fridley to the City of Bozeman a tract of land described
as the East one-half of the Southwest one-quarter (E~SW~) of Section 7, Township 3 South, Range 6
East, M.P.M., containing 80 acres, more or less as part of the 29 May, 1959, land trade Agreement
between Mrs. Fridley and the City was presented.
Following a discussion, it was moved by Mayor Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that
the Warranty Deed be approved as recommended by the City Manager and the City Attorney and be re-
corded and filed by the County Clerk and Recorder and the motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none.

The City Manager reported that it would be desirable to replenish the City's stock of Copper

Pipe and requested authority to purchase Copper Pipe at the approximate cost of $2,300.00. In con-
currence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Mayor Morrow, seconded by
Commissioner Langohr, that the purchase of copper pipe be approved and the motion was carried by the
following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commiissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting
No, none.

The City Manager and the Chief of Police stated they were not aware of any incidents in the
operation of the above establishments that would warrant disapproval of the application. In con-
currence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded
by Mayor Morrow, that the above applications be approved and the Director of Finance be directed to
issue license in accordance ,therewith and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote;
those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.

Ordinance No. 890 regulating the movement of vehicles overtaking and meeting a school bus
which is stopped or preparing to stop on the streets of the City of Bozeman was presented, entitled:

ORDINANCE NO. 890
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE MOVEMENT OF VEHICLES OVERTAKING AND
MEETING A SCHOOL BUS WHICH IS STOPPED OR PREPARING TO STOP ON
THE STREETS OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, AND PROVIDING FOR
ACTUATION OF AMBER FLASHING LIGHTS AND RED FLASHING LIGHTS BY
SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORD-
INANACES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY
EXISTS AND PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECT-
IVE IMMEDIATELY UPON PASSAGE.
Following a thorough discussion, the Commission concurred with the recommendation of the
City Manager, and it was moved by Mayor Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the proposed
Ordinance No. 890 be passed and adopted as an emergency ordinance and the motion was carried by
the following Aye and No vote: those voting No, none.

There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Morrow, that the meeting be adjourned and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
and Mayor
