The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday, 16 July 1969, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Morrow, Commissioner
Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr, City Manager Fryslie, Ass't. City Manager Keyes, City Attorney Berg
and the Clerk.
Commissioner Langohr opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the regular session hel 9 July 1969 were read and it was moved by Commissioner
Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Morrow, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by
the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr
and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.
Minutes of the special meeting held Monday, 14 July 1969, were read and it was moved by Mayor
Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow and Commissioner Sedivy;
those voting No, none.
Sidewalk & Curb Contract Documents for Execution: Ronald Aafedt:
The performance bond and contract documents for the contract of Ron Aafedt awarded 9 July 1969
for the construction of miscellaneous Walks and Curbs within the City of Bozeman for the year 1969
was presented. The bond and contract were approved as to form by the City Attorney and the City
Manager reported that the City had evidence the contractor is adequately insured and recommended tha
the documents be approved. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr,seconded by Commissioner Sedivy.
that the contract be so approved as presented and the Mayor and the Clerk of the Commission be auth-
orized and directed to sign the contract for the City and Ron Aafedt be authorized to proceed with
the construction of Miscellaneous Walks and Curbs. The motion was carried by the following Aye and
No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Morrow; those
voting No, none.
AuthoE.i!z. to Purchase Water Meters - Approximately $900.00:
The City Manager reported that the Water Department has need for an additional supply of S/8x3/4"
water meters and requested authority to Purchase twenty-eight water meters at an approximate cost
of $900.00. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy. seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the purchase
be authorized and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting aye being
Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.
Junior Classical League of Latin - National Convention, New Orleans:
Cris Anderson and Dana Ellison of the Bozeman Senior High School Junior Classical League
appeared before the Commission to request permission to operate a concession at Bogerts Grove in
connection with the band concert on Tuesday, 22 July 1969, in an attempt to raise money to assist in
sending delegates to the National Convention of the Junior Classical League of Latin to be held in
New Orleans. Following a discussion. it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner
Langohr, that the request to conduct the fund drive be granted and the motion was carried by the
following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr and
Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.
Final acceptance SID No. 492 - Sanitary Sewer:
The certificate of the engineer of Thomas, Dean and Hoskins & Associates on Special Improve-
ment District No. 492 stating the construction has been completed in accordance with the plans and

specifications was presented. The City Manager concurred in the recommendation of the engineers
and recommended that the project be accepted, that penalties for overrun of the contract time be
waived and final payment made. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sed-
ivy, that as recommended, the project be accepted as completed and the Director of Finance be directed
to issue warrants in payment of the same and the motion was carried by_the following Aye and No vote:
those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.
Authority to Purchase Tractor-Mower, Park Cemetery - Approximate cost $1,454~0:
The Park cemetery Department has need for a tractor-mower at an approximate cost of $1,454.80.
Based upon quotes received, the City Manager recommended purchase of a unit at the cost cited. It
was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the purchase of the Tractor-
mower be authorized and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.
Ordinance No. 882 - Salary Ordinance for 1969-1970 Fiscal Period:
Ordinance No. 882, the annual salary ordinance covering the salaries of the head of departments
and employees who are direct appointees of the Commission was presented, entitled:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OOZEMAN, MONTANA, FIXING THE MONTHLY
SALARY AND OFFICIAL BOND OF THE CITY MANAGER, THE HEADS OF DEPART-
MENTS, AND THE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY COMMISSION AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that Ordinance No. 882,
be passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.
Proclamation - Vehicle Safety Week - Jaycees, 20-26 July 1969:
Mayor Morrow announced his proclamation of 20-26 July 1969 as Vehicle Safety Week in accord-
ance with a request of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr,
seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the Commission concur in the proclamation and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner
Sedivy and Mayor MorroW; those voting No, none.
Examination of Depository Bonds:
In compliance with the provisions of Section 16-2618, R.C.M., 1947, the City Commission pro-
ceeded to examine the receipts of Depository Bonds and Securities held by the Director of Finance
as Security for City Funds deposited in Bozeman Banks. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded
by Commissioner Langohr, that the securities be approved and a list thereof be set forth in full

of Section 16-2618 R.C.M., 1947 have this day examined the receipts of the Federal Reserve Bank of
Minneapolis, the Northwestern National Bank of Minneapolis, the Marquette National Bank of Minneap-
olis, and the National Bank of Commerce of Seattle, for the Depository Bonds held by the Director of
Finance as security for the deposit for the City of Bozeman funds by the several banks of Bozeman
and find them to be as above stated, are hereby accepted and approved.

perform at Bogerts Park Band Shell on Tuesday, 22 July 1969 and the motion was carried by the following
