The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday, 25 June 1969, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Morrow, Commissioner
Langohr, City Manager Frys1ie, Ass't City Manages Keyes, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk.
Commissioner Langohr opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the regular session held 18 June 1969 were read and it was moved by Commissioner
Langohr, seconded by Mayor Morrow, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried
by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, and Mayor MOrrow;
those voting No, none.
Request to Hold Roundup Parade - 9 August 1969 - Bozeman Jaycees:
A letter received from Darre1 Bergquist, J. C. Roundup Parade Chairman, requesting permission
to stage a Rodeo Parade, Saturday, 9 August 1969, at 10:30 A.M., to begin at Buttreys Shopping Center
and proceed down Main Street to Bogarts Grove was presented. It was moved by Mayor MOrrow, seconded
by Commissioner Langohr, that the request be granted and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none.
Absence of Commissioner Sedivy = Excused from Regular Meetings - Two Weeks, National Guard:
It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Morrow, that Commissioner Sedivy be
excused from the regular meeting of the City Commission on the 18th and the 25th of June to attend
the National Guard and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.
Petition for Paving & Storm Drainage - South Black, West College, Harrison Street:
A petition was submitted to create a Special Improvement District for the construction and
installation of concrete curbs and gutters, asphaltic concrete pavement and necessary storm drainage
system and appurtenances thereto on South Black Avenue lying south of College Street, College Street
College Street betweeB.Tracy Avenue and a point 266.1 feet easterly of South Black Avenue, Harrison
Avenue between South Tracy Avenue and South Black Avenue, and various cul-de-sacs tying in Spring
Dell Addition. Following a discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor
Morrow, that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a resolution initiating a Special Improvement
District for the paving and storm drainage as stated above and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow'; those voting No, none.
Fi~al Acceptance & Approval - SID No. 489 - Water and Sewer:
The certificate of the engineer of Thomas, Dean & Hoskins and Associates on Special Improvement
District No. 489 stating the construction has been completed in accordance with the plans and speci-
fications was presented. The City Manager concurred in the recommendation of the engineers and re-
commended that the project be accepted, that penalties for overrun of the contract time be waived
and final payment made. It was moved by Mayor Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that as
recommended, the project be accepted as completed and the Director of Finanve be directed to issue
warrants in payment of same and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye being Mayor Morrow and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none.
Sanitary Sewer Pipeline Easement - Interceptor & Outfall Lines - Bozeman Schoo] District No.7:
A Sanitary Sewer Pipeline Easement from the Bozeman School District No.7, for the installa-
tion and maintenance of a sanitary sewer pipe line across their property as a part of the new Waste
Water Treatment Plant project was presented by Ass't. City Manager Keyes. The City Manager recommend-

ed that the City enter into the Agreement as to form by the City Attorney and it was moved by
Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Morrow, that the Easement Agreement be entered into and
the Mayor and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized and directed to sign for the City and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr
and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.
Zoning Code Amendment - Elk's Property:
Ordinance No. 881 amending and changing the zoning map of the City of Bozeman by changing from
Class "AA" Residential to motor business all of the land in the Northern Pacific Addition, now
zoned 8S Class "AA" residential, lying East of the West side of vacated Switzler Avenue and between
Ellis Street and U.S. Highway No. 10 was presented as follows:
ORDINANCE NO. 881
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND CHANGING THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN BY CHANGING FROM CLASS "AA" RESIDENTIAL TO MOTOR BUSINESS
ALL OF THE LAND IN THE NORTHERN PACIFIC ADDITION, NOW ZONED AS
CLASS "AA" RESIDENTIAL, LYING EAST OF WEST SIDEOF VACATED SWITZl.ER
SWITZLER AVENUE AND BETWEEN ELLIS STREET AND U. S. HIGHWAY NO. 10.
Following a thorough discussion, the Commission concurred with the recommendation of the City
Manager and it was moved by Mayor Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the proposed ord-
inance be passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and Novate; those
Morrow
voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr and Mayod; those voting No, none.

The City Manager commented on the above reports and recommended their approval. It was moved
by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Morrow, that the reports be approved and ordered filed
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner
Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.
Authority to Attend League of Cities Meeting - Helena, 27 June 1969: Commission, Mgr & Clerk of Comm.:
It was moved by Mayor MOrrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the City Commission
City Manager and Clerk of the Commission be authorized to attend the Montana League of Cities and
Towns Officers and Board of Directors meeting to be held in Helena, 27 June 1969 for the purpose of
reading and discussing the financial report for the end of the fiscal year and the proposed budge~
for the fiscal year, 1 July 1969 to 1 July 1970, and to discuss the final plans for the annual
convention to be held in Bozeman 22-23 August. It being in the public interest, the expenses are
to bepaid from the General Fund. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Mayor MOrrow and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none.

Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor MorroW, that the meeting be adjourned and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr and Mayor
