Message: Dear Commissioners, I protest the waste of money perpetrated every year in the city on
"snow removal". It is one thing to plow streets, another to milk every storm, no matter how
small, for days. I see from my window on South 29th in Meadow Creek Subdivision, a grader re-
polowing streets that were plowed yesterday. No new snow to plow. And it has not thawed to
allow for more "scrape-age". But here is this huge machine for no reason. For new "work", it is
plowing the berms, knowing them back, in an obvious exercise in make-work. That is what is
needed in true snow country like the Sierra Nevada, to make room for the next multi-foot dump,
not here where snow is measured in scant inches. A deceptive game is being played. It's called
padding the budget. Each year the road crew shows how many hours it "had to" plow streets, and
salt them - another scourge. Wonder why the Law and Justice Center ballot measure lost? Look
