Commissioner Langohr opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the regular session held 2 January 1969 were read and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. ~_~H. Aux:iJJc~u-=-__~~Bt1...~L.?oPPY" Days 16-17 May 1969: A letter received from Mrs. Marion Harding, President of the Veterans .of Foreign Wars Auxiliary designating 16-17 May as "Poppy Day" and permitting the sale of the "Buddy Poppy" \vas presented. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the request to sell the "Buddy Poppy" be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. ~,on:U_~~~_tio~ of Pol ic~q.f:fj_c::e~_:._J~9.iger D. Hanson: The Chief of Police reported that Officer Rodger D. Hanson had satisfactorily completed the re- quired six month probationary period and recommended that Officer Hanson be confirmed as a regular officer of the Bozeman Police Department effective 1 December 1968. The City Manager announced that he concurred in the recommendation of the Chief of Police subject to the approval of the Commission. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the confirmation of Police Officer Rodger D. Hanson be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. Appoint ot_Assistan!=......City Na~'!&<:..~1tobert F ~~~: City Manager Fryslie stated that he had thoroughly reviewed the applications of Thirteen (13) persons for the position of Assistant City Manager and wished to announce his appointment of Robert F. Keyes as Assistant City Manager effective 1 January 1969 on a part time basis until lS March 1969. On 16 March 1969, Mr. Keyes will enter into the position of Assistant City Manager on a full time basis and will perfarm full time duties. The Cammission concurred in the City Managers appointment and it was moved by Commissioner Langahr, secanded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the appointment of Robert F. Keyes be approved as part time Assistant City Manager effective 1 January 1969 until 15 March 1969 and in a full time capacity on 16 March and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: thase voting Aye being Comm- issioner Langohr, Commissianer Sedivy and Mayor Morrow; thase vating No, none. The Chief .of Police requested that he and Sergeant McDowell be authorized to attend the meeting. Following recommendations by the City Manager, it \Vas moved by Commissioner Sedivy, secanded by Commissioner Langohr, that Chief of Police C. R. Cutting and Sergeant H. Ch_~_~ f: J!t1_~e_E_and__{:s_~'._t_~!.0~::!X_l.!.<:>..lO;Y: It was reported that a Mid-Hinter Montana Fire Chief's Conference is scheduled to be held in Great Falls, Hontana, 1-2 February 1969 and in concurrence Ttlith the recommendation of the Fire Chief and the City Hanager., it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that Fire Chief Huber and Ass't. Fire Chief Hoey be authorized to attend the conference and, it being in the public interest, their expenses be paid from the General fund and the motion was carried by the follmving Aye and No vo te: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. :!?.Q1.__ s c o~':1J:___.::. Ross, Chainnan of Camping Activity Committee of the Mountain Valley District (Gallatin County) Boy Scouts of America for permission to hold their annual Boy Scout Klondike Derby Sled parade along Main Street at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, 11 January 1969, was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that approval be given to hold the parade as outlined and that the Police Department be prepared to furnish sufficient escort to provide for traffic safety and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the reports be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.
