Motion: Boardmember Dodge motioned to approve the minutes.

Boardmember Cook seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.

• Chairman Wade talked to Maddie Pope from the Trust for Public Lands

o she is willing to give a tour of Story Mill Park next week
—Item#3—City Manager Update: Chris Kukulski
• City Manager Chris Kukulski made a presentation on infrastructure development and how it relates
to parks
o see attachment for his presentation documents
• Boardmember Close
o could a tiered SID be attempted?SID could be bigger based on the size of the park
o what about the possibility of a transportation bond?
o gives a sense of ownership in our local park, could eventually help with taxpayer dollars
• Boardmember Cook
o "parks are infrastructure",there is currently$4 million earmarked for infrastructure from
the TOP bond fund from multiple projects
o could consider raising taxes instead of using bond money for sewer, roads, etc.
• Boardmember Dodge
o parks are nonprofit, money for infrastructure should come from another source
—Item #4— By Laws Report/Update: Brian Close
• City has created a template, Boardmember Close made some changes that could be adopted, such
as general procedure, dealing with the public, etc.
Item#5 -Adopt a Park: Matt Parsons
• based Bozeman's program on an example from San Jose
• program is meant to assist with park maintenance
• currently have three groups who want to get involved
• many groups and people already informally take care of some parks

• Motion: Boardmember Close motioned to approve the Traditions Final Park Plan.
• Boardmember Cook seconded the motion.
• The motion passed unanimously.

• National Trails Day is May 27,GVLT will be doing trail projects

• Front Street trail expansion at Oak and Rouse
o no infrastructure costs, board will soon finalize their recommendation
• Manley Road
o would have considerable infrastructure costs
o had a tour from a resident on Turtle Way, feedback from Turtle Way residents want
nothing built
o listed in the City's growth plan as parks/trails/recreation
o there has been pressure on the Rotary to take over the project
—Item #9—Superintendent Report:Thom White
• training new crews
o trash, restrooms, mowing
• mowing over 200 acres every week
• sports teams are out playing on the fields
o huge new athletic tournaments this year
• installing new memorial benches and new park entrance signs
• department was allocated 16 short-term workers
• new asphalt at Beall Park basketball court
• Oak Springs Park
o fired up the sprinklers, planted 15 new trees, started grading

• city is in the budgeting process, and the currently proposed budget will increase taxes and fees I
