HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-12-11 I I I Bozeman, Montana 11 December 1968 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, II December 1968, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy, City Manager Cutting, Ass't City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Commissioner Sedivy opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the regular session held 4 December 1968 were read and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Morrow, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. I:rilJ:.L:!:.c:_~'?.~_~E.9-1.E_,_~or-1Dte,F~_tions of South Thir !\ve~~_..Jhlls2-~ Av~_~ith Kag~Jl!vd.: The matter of the traffic conditions which exist at the intersection of South Willson Avenue, South Third Avenue and Kagy Boulevard was again presented following a study by the Chief of Police and the City Engineer as directed by the City Commission on 27 November 1968. Following a thorough discussion of the above subject, the City Manager concurred with the recommendations submitted by the Chief of Police and the City Engineer and it was moved by Mayor Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the following traffic controls be approved and installed. 1. The intersection of South Third Avenue and Kagy Boulevard be made a four-way stop intersection by erection of necessary stop signs. 2. That a yield sign be placed on Kagy Boulevard immediately east of the Willson Avenue intersection to govern west bound traffic on Kagy Boulevard entering Willson Avenue. 3. That the extension of South Willson Avenue lying between Kagy Boule- vard and South Third Avenue be barricaded as the City of Bozeman does not have the necessary Righ-of-Way. D. Kors lund and Two Members: A meeting of the Montana Planning Boards is scheduled to be held in Helena, on Friday, 13 December 1968. The City Manager recommended that the President of the Bozeman City-County Planning Board and two other board members be authorized to attend this meeting and the expenses be paid from the planning fund. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Morrow, that the authorization to attend the meeting as indicated be so approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. Hayor Norrm.; and Police Chief Cutting: A meeting of the Montana Law Enforcement Academy Board is scheduled to be held in Butte, 17 December 1968 for the purpose of discussing a zone type in-service training program. In concurr- ence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Morrow, that the authorization to attend the meeting be granted Police Chief Cutting and Mayor Morrow and, it being in the public interest their expenses be paid from the General fund and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. Final Pl<!.t~..?_~~.r Dough Creek Property, Subdivision No.1 - Jack Burke: The final plat of Subdivision No.1, Sour Dough Creek property was presented along with the further recommendation that an Agreement between the County and the d 1 b " eve oper e executed, binding 293 294 the additional 8.8 acres of 'potential park area' as shown on the Master plan of Sour Dough Creek properties to future park dedication at such time as lands subdivided will support the requirements for additional park area ,beyond the 7.8 acre McLeod Park. After a thorough discussion of the plats, the City Manager concurred in the recommendation of the City County Planning Board and also recommended that the above mentioned plat and agreement be approved and entered into by the City. The Commission concurred in the recommendation of the City Manager and it was moved by Mayor Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the plats of Sub- division No.1 of the Sour Dough Creek properties, Inc., be approved and that the City Manager be authorized and directed to sign the plat as Director of Public Service and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow, and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. ~~cia_L,M(>5'_t):!lJi.-2J__the_Commission: 9:00 A.H. Chittam, State Highway Engineer inviting Montana City Officials and City Managers to meet with the Montana Highway Department at Helena on Friday, 20 December at 10:00 o'clock A.M. for a discussion of the proposed legislative programs of the Highway Department arid of the Cities. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Morrow, that Chief Cutting be highly commended on his excellent report of hi.s attendance at the school and that the report be accepted and approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: Those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Morrow, that the reports be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.
