Consideratio_~.._o_L~_~~~-,._:y~~ound Equipment SID No. {.70 - Kirk Parle The Assistant City Manager and Recreation Director, having completed their review of the bids submitted for Playground Equipment for Kirk Park (SID 470) have submitted a recommendation to the City Manager as follows: That purchase awards be made to the following on the basis of their low bids which meet speci- fications as set forth in the "Call for Bids": Patterson-Williams Manufacturing - Santa Clara, California Three Baseball Backstops Miracle Equipment Co. - Grinnell, Iowa All other playground and picnic equipment bid, except the above baseball backstops. Net quote after 2% discount allowed $1,302.00 2,669.01 $3,971.01 TOTAL OR RECOMMENDED PURCHASE AWARDS That the bid of Game Time, Inc. be rejected on the basis of several of the items bid by that firm not meeting the specifications as set forth with the call for bids. Following discussion, the City Managcr concurred in the recommendation of the Assistant City Manager and the Recreation Director and it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Comm- issioner Sedivy, that the purchase contracts be awarded to Patterson-Williams Manufacturing - Santa Clara, California, on their bid of $1,302.00 and to Miracle Equipment Co., Gdnnel, Iowa, on their net bid of $2,669.01, these being the lowest and best bids for the City of Bozeman and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Secivy and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. Accompanying the letter when received was a reward of $50.00 from Mr. Blowers. In concurrence with the Cheif of Police the City Manager recommended that the $50.00 be deposited in the Police Protective Association Fund. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Langohr, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; and the following voted against the same; none; ,,,hereupon said resolut'.on was declared duly passed and adopted, and the Mayor, being present, affixed his signature thereto in approval thereof, which was attested by the Clerk of the City Commission. Thunnan Cloninger, Park-Cemetery Department Superintendent, requeRting that his employment with the City he terrninated effective 23 L\ugm;t, 1968, to pennit his application for retirement benefits. The City Manager stated that it is with regret that he has accepted Mr. Cloninger's resignation, follow- ing a long tenure of superior pcrforrnance as Park-Cemetery Superintendent since 27 March 1939. I I I I Hayor Borrow expressed regret at Mr. Cloninger's departure but Hished him the best in retirement following an outstanding career Hith the City. Commissioner Sedivy stated that M.r. Cloninger has set a standard for all property mvners in this City with the excellent care provided the Park and Cemetery properties of the City. Commissioner Langohr, based upon a lifetime of personal and business acquaintance, expressed high regard for the exceptional service of Mr. Cloninger as Park- Cemetery Superintendent. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the r:ommission regretfully concur in the acceptance of the resignation of E. Thurman Cloninger from his posi- tion of Park-Cemetery Superintendent effective 23 August 1968 and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Sedivy, and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. The City Manager recommended that the documents, approved as to form by the City Attorney, be approved. In compliance with the provision of Section 16-2618, R.C.M., 1947, the City Commission pro- ceeded to examine the Receipts of Depository Bonds and Securities held by the Director of Finance as Security for City Funds deposited in Bozeman Banks, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, sec- onded by Commissioner Langohr, that the securities be approved and a list thereof be set forthin full in the minutes of the meeting and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: Those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting I No, none.
