The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in'the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday, 26 June 1968, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Morrow, Commissioner
Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr, City Manager Cutting, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk.
Commissioner Langohr opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the regular meeting held 19 June 1968 were read and it was moved by Commissioner
Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner
Langohr~ those voting No, none.
Open Bids liB No. 42 Project No. 212 (01) seal coat Oiling of Certain City Streets:
This was the time and place set for receiving bids for HB No. 42 Project No. 212 (Pl) Seal
Coating 108,379 yards of Streets and avenues in various sections of the City as approved by the State
Highway DepartmenL, Affidavit of publication of "Notice to Bidders" was presented. Mr. George
Barrett, Division Engineer for the Montana State Highway Commission was present for the bid opening.
Three sealed bids were on file and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner
Langohr, that the bids be opened and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.
The following Bids were opened and read:

The bids were then transferred to the City Engineer to check in detail prepare tabulations
and make recommendations in regard to the 'lowest and best bid for contract award. Mr. Barrett
advised that the opening procedure had followed Highway Department instructions and that the bids
are to be forwarded through his office to the Highway Department in Helena for consideration after
contingent award by the City Commission.
Reports (Continued):
The report of the Director of Finance was presented. The City Manager commented on the reports
of the Director of Finance and recommended the approval thereof. It was moved by Commissioner Lan-
gohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the report of the Director of Finance be approved and
ordered filed and the motion was carries by the following, Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Sedivy,
and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.
Consideration of Construction Bids HB No. 42 Project No. 212 (01) Seal Coat Oiling of Certain Streets
and Avenues:
The City Engineer, upon completion of checking and tabulation of the bids, recommended that the
contract for HB-42 Project No. 212 (Ol) be swarded to the Long Construction Company on the basis of
its low bid in the amount of $21,741.00, contingent upon the approval of the State Highway Department.
The City Manager concurred in the recommendation of the City Engineer, and it was moved the Comm-
issioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the contract be awarded to Long Construction
Company on the basis of its bid as noted above, contingent upon the approval of the State Highway
Department and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.
