HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-02-28 158 Bozeman, Mon tana 28 February 1968 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in tbe Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, 28 February 1968, at 1:00 o~clock p.m. Present were Mayor MOrrow, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr, Acting City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Commissioner Langohr opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the regular meeting held 21 February 1968 were read and it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, tbat the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Sedivy, and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. Authorization to Call for Bids - lO.OOO lb. GVW Truck - Water Dept. Approximately $3,500.00: The Water Department has an apparent need for a one (1) ton truck with dual rear wheels in replacement of a 1961 Dodge Truck which has been in continued service since tbat time. The estimated cost of the new unit is $3,500.00 less the trade-in allowance on ,the 1961 dodge. In concurrence with the recommendation of the Acting City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the specifications for the truck be approved and the Clerk of the Commission be directed to issue a "Call for Bids" for the one (1) ton truck to be opened on 20 Marcb 1968 and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langobr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. Authorization to Purchase IrriKation Pipe & Fittings - Kirk Park - Approximately $975.00: The Acting City Manager reported the Park Department has need for irrigation pipe and fittings for use in Kirk Park on the west side of the City as a part of the Kirk Park Development Project SID No. 470. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that purchase of irrigation pipe and fittings for use in Kirk Park in the approximate amount of $975.00 be authorized and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. proclamation - Girl Scout Week March lO-16: Mayor Morrow announced he had issued a proclamation designating the week of lO-l6 March 1968 as Girl Scout Week recognizing fifty-six years of service to girls aged seven tbru seventeen and urged all citizens to support this wortb/youth organization. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the Mayor's proclamation be endorsed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner ~angohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. Resignation of Richard H. Renn - Police Judge: A letter received from Mr. Richard H. Renn, submitting to the City Commission his resignation as Police Judge for the City of Bozeman, effective 1 March 1968 was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the resignation of Police Judge, Richard H. Renn, be accepted effective 1 March and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. Reports for January: (Continued): The Following reports were presented for January: Library Director of Public Service I 1 I 1 1 I The Acting City Manager commented on the reports and recommended their approval. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the reports be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. Public Address System for Commission Room: Following a discussion of the noise level of the ventilating system in the Commission Room of the Municipal Building, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the City Manager and or the City Engineer and his staff be directed to investiage the possi- bility of the installation of a public address system for the Commission Room and to report back to the Commission as to their findings at the Commission Meeting bo be held Wednesday, 3 April, 1968. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Langobr and Mayor MOrrow; those voting No, none. Ad journment: There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the meeting be adjourned and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Comm- issioner Sedivy and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none.
