HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-03-20 1 I I Bozeman, Montana 20 March 1968 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, 20 March 1968t at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Morrow, Commissioner Langohr, City Manager Cutting, Ass't. City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Mayor Morrow opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the regular meeting held 13 March 1968 were read and it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Morrow, that the minutes be approved as corrected and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. Absence of Commissioner Sedivy: In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Mayor Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that Commissioner Sedivy's absence from the meeting be authorized to accompany the Montana State University Band on a tour, in compliance with Section 2.08.060 of the Bozeman Municipal Code and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Morrow and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none. Open Bids on lO.OOO GVW Vehicle for Water Department: This was the time and place set for opening bids on a one (1) ton truck with dual rear wheels for use by the water department. The affidavit of publication of the "Call for Bids" was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor MOrrow, that the bids be opened and read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. Bozeman Motors, Inc., Robert F. Dye, Inc., Don Norem Cheve. & Buick Owenhouse Hardware Company Rolfe & Wood, Inc.,q $3t003.8l 3,146.50 2,990.00 2,920.46 2,572.61 Upon request of the City Manager, it was moved by Mayor Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the bids be referred to the City Engineer and the Water Superintendent for checking and recommendations to be made to tbe Commission at its next meeting. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye Being Mayor Morrow and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none. Consideration of Bids for Cemetery Vehicle: The Commission was referred to the opening of bids for the one (1) ton, four (4) wheel drive truck for use by the Cemetery Department on 13 March 1968. The bids having been studied in detail by the City Engineering Department, a general discussion including representatives of the bidders was held. There appearing to be several misunderstandings in regard to the specified weight of the vehicle, the length of the wheel base and the type of hoist, it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Morrow, that all bids be rejected, the City specifications be reviewed and rewritten and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized to issue a new "Call for Bids" for the purchase of the four (4) wheel drive truck for use by the cemetery department and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. 67 168 Adjournment: There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor MOrrow, that the meeting be adjourned and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Morrow; those voting No, none. 1 ATTEST: ~ ssion 1 I
