Dear City Commissioners and School Board Trustees,
As the parent of a child attending Hawthorne school, I am concerned about the impact of a bar serving hard
alcohol during school hours across the street from my child's school. Bozeman School District and City
Commissioners should want to provide a safe learning environment for the children of Bozeman. Allowing a bar
to serve alcohol during school hours within 100 feet and highly visible from classroom windows is unacceptable.
The rooftop should have alcohol restrictions when school is in session. This is a very small time frame, and 4 pm
seems plenty early to start serving alcohol up there, as it still allows 10 hours of business on a given weekday. (4-
2am)
Please deny the Taproom's request to the City for a conditional use permit for a full beverage license. Granting
such a permit clearly is not in the best interest of the children or the Bozeman. Also, please re-evaluate
restricting any service of alcohol on rooftop when school is in session.
Thanks for your time and consideration on this issue.
Sincerely,
Pam Meyer
