Murphy - Bozeman TaproomFrom:Christopher Murphy To:Agenda; Bozeman City Subject:HELIO_Letterhead Date:Friday, December 09, 2016 4:30:27 PM Attachments:HELIO_Letterhead.pdf Dear City of Bozeman Here is my letter regarding my concerns over the Taproom liquor license. C H R I S M U R P H Y PRINCIPAL | HELIO & COMPANY O:: 406-284-2341 | C:: 206-554-1437 | HELIO | VIMEO 12.08.16 City of Bozeman, I'm writing to express my concern regarding the Taproom's application for a Conditional Use Permit to obtain a full liquor license. Many parents are already concerned about the negative impact the Taproom has on the children attending school at Hawthorne Elementary. Since the Bar operates during school hours it is likely to set a bad example to kids with people openly drinking and exiting the bar drunk. That said, customers leaving the bar may drive home and that is cause for concern since kids frequently cross Rouse & Mendenhall, the two streets that Hawthorne Elementary and the Taproom share. According to Montana State Law, alcohol should not be sold within 600 feet of a school, and on the same street as a building used as a school. Please do not allow the Taproom to obtain a liquor license for their establishment and be considerate of the children attending the school directly across the street. Sincerely, Chris Murphy Principal INFO@wearehelio.COM - 406.284.2341 - weareHELIO.COM
