Re: BABAB
Dear Rebecca,
On behalf of the citizens of Bozeman, I would like to thank you for your
service on the Bozeman Area Bicycle Advisory Board. You have been a
knowledgeable and dedicated advocate for alternative transportation in Bozeman,
and the Bike Board suited your interests well. You've been a great model of Advisory
Board membership because you always came prepared and we always knew that
you spoke from facts and commitment. We will miss you.
It is worth recounting some of what has happened on your watch. Annual
bike counts were instituted to establish data from which the City could act. Active
promotion of biking though events like Bike to Work Week happen annually.
Passage of the no driving and cell phone use ordinance was primarily due to the
efforts of the Bike Board. You successfully advocated for bike lanes on Peach, So.
23d and other streets, and you saw the advent of sharrow markings throughout the
City. Remarkably, due to your work the City is actually collaborating with MSU and
WTI to fund a Transportation Demand Manager. While no accomplishment is the
result of one person, I know that you have been active in all of the above.
Not to be forgotten is your service as the Chair of BABAB. The Bike Board is
one of the strongest City Advisory Boards and this is due to your leadership.
The main thing, of course, is the City could not be what it is, without the work
of you and so many others. So THANK YOU for making our City such a great place to
live.
Sincerely,
Carson TAM 82-23
