HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-11-22 115 Bozeman, Montana 22 November, 1967 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesday, 22 November, 1967, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Sedivy, Commissioner Langohr, City Manager Cutting, Ass't City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. I Mayor Sedivy opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the regular session held 15 November, 1967, were read and it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Sedivy, that the minutes be approved as corrected and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. Absence-ai-Commissioner Morrow: In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Mayor Sedivy, sec- onded by Commissioner Langohr, that the absence of Commissioner Morrow be authorized for 22 Nov- ember, 1967, in compliance with Section 2.08-060 of the Bozeman Municipal Code. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sedivy and Commissioner Langohrj those voting No, none. Confirmation of Police Officer - Patrolman Darvin B. Hanson: A letter received fram the Chief of Police announcing that Officer Darvin B. Hanson had satisfactorily completed the required six month probationary period in the Bozeman Police Department was presented. The City Manager announced that he concurred in the recommendation of the Chief of Police and confirmed the appointment of Police Officer Darvin B. Hanson as a member of the Police I Department subject to the approval of the Commission. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Sedivy, that the confirmation of Police Officer Darvin B. Hanson be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. Report on Operators School: MSU 13-17 November: City Engineer Fargo and Water Supt. Dunahoo: The City Engineer and the Water Superintendent were present to report on their attendance at the Annual School for Water and Waste Water Plant Operators and Managers held at Montana State University from 13-17 November. It was moved by Mayor Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the City Engineer and the Water Superintendent be commended on their very thorough report and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: thos voting Aye being Mayor Sedivy and Comm- issioner Langohr; those voting No, none. Reports for October (continued): The Cemetery report for the month of October was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Sedivy, that the report be approved as presented and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. I Authority to Attend Seminar: Legal Principals of Boundary Location: Billings - EMC 7-8 December 1967: The City Manager reported a Seminar on Legal Principals of Boundary Location is scheduled to be held at The Eastern Montana College, Billings, Montana, on December 7 and 8 and recommended that the City Engineer be authorized to attend. It was moved by Mayor Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the City Engineer he authorized to attend the scheduled Seminar and, that it being in the public interest his expenses be paid from the General Fund and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Sedivy and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none. 1.1.6 Report on Municipal League Executive & Legislative Committee Meeting - Lewistown: Mayor Sedivy reported on his, Commissioner Morrow's and City Manager Cutting's attendance at the Municipal League Committees and Legislative Meeting held at Lewis town , 16 November, 1967. His report consisted of a complete resume of the entire program. He also informed the Commission that as the member of the League Executive Committee for District No. 10, he has scheduled a meeting of I the City Officials of District No. 10 to be held in Bozeman on December 3, 1967. I t was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Sedivy, that the report be accepted and approved as presented and that use of the Commission Room of the City Hall Building for the meeting of Municipal League District No. 10 on 3 December be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. Ad iournment: There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Mayor Sedivy, that the meeting be adjourned and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.
