HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-10-11 99 Bozeman, Montana 11 OcLober, 1967 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall Building, Wednesda~ 11 October, 1967, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr, Acting City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. I Commissioner Morrow opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the regular meeting held 4 October, 1967, were read and it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. Phillips "66" . - Requ"~t for. fifty foot Sign - 1007 East Main Street: A letter received from Lyle Baird, District Representative of Phillips Petroleum Company, re- questing permission to erect a Fifty foot standing sign at the Phillips '66' Station located at 1007 East Main Street was presented. Mr. Lyle Baird and Mr. Phillip O'Neil also appeared before the Commission to further discuss the erection of the Fifty foot standing sign. Following a thorough discussion of the request and in concurrence with the recommendation of the Acting City Manager, the Commission tabled the request for one week for further consideration. Resolution No. 1349. - Walks & Curbs - Hearing and Final Ad .:.r.t:iOIl: This was the time and place set for hearing on Levying Assessment for the cost of repair, re- placement or construction of sidewalks for the year 1967 in the amount of $6,609.34. Affidavit of publication of Notice was presented. No one was present to protest and no written protests having I been filed, Resolution No. 1349, as presented and provisionally passed at the meeting of 4 October, 1967, was presented for final passage. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the resolution be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. Contract Documents - Wate~_~eservoir Fencing: The Contract Documents for the construction of the "Chain Link" fencing of the City's South Reservoir located three miles South of Bozeman, as awarded to the Mountain States Fence Company, Inc. , Salt Lake City, Utah, on 27 September, 1967, was presented. The Contract bonds were approved as to form by the City Attorney and it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow that the Mayor and the Clerk of the City Commission be authorized to sign the con trac t for the Ci ty of Bozeman and that Mountain States Fence Company be authorized to proceed on the construction of the "Chain Link" fencing of the City's South Reservoir, and the pledge for bid security be returned to the unsuccessful bidders and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Comnlissioner Langohr, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. I Montana State Univcrwity Homecoming Parade - 10:00 o'clock A.M., 21 October: A letter received from J. Bruce Putnam, Homecoming Parade Chairman of the Montana State Univer- 'sity, requesting permission to stage their annual parade on Saturday, 21 October, 1967, at 10:00 o'clock A.M. was presented. The parade will begin at Buttrey's Shopping Center on West Main Street and proceed down Main Street to the intersection of East Main Street and South Church Avenue. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by €bmmissioner Langohr, that permission to stage the par- be granted ade as requestedknd the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy: those voting No, none. 00 ~ozeman S~:nior High School Homecomi"0~,,!!ade" - 10 :00 A .M.:._J:!~ Dc tober, 1967: -- A letter received from Richard Christensen, President of the Bozeman Senior High School Student Body requesting permission to conduct a Homecoming Parade on Saturday, October 14, 1967, at 10:00 o'clock a.m. was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded byCommissioner Morrow, that permission to stage the parade as requested be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Morrow I and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. Sa itary Sewer Easement Agreement - Martha Bol1~s Palffy:_ An Easement and Right-of-Way Agreement approved as to form by the City Attorney for the use and maintenance of an 8" Sanitary Sewer on the property owned by Martha Bolles Palffy was presented. The Acting City Manager recommended that the City enter into the Agreement and it was moved by Comm- issioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the City enter into the Agreement and that the Mayor and the Clerk of the City Commission be authorized and directed to sign for the City and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. E~~::.!:=ion__ - Clerks and Judges: The Clerk of the City Commission reported that the Commission's appointment of Judges and Clerks to serve on the Election Boards for the City General Election to be held for the year (1967), should be a matter of business. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the reports be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. After examination of the claims and checking against the I claim regis ter, it was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the claims be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. ~<!iou mille n s.
