The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday, 25 October, 1967, at 1:00 o'clook P.M. Present were Mayor Sedivy, Commissioner
Morrow, Commissioner Langohr, Acting City Manager Fryslie, Acting City Attorney Angel and the Clerk.
I Mayor Sedivy opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the regular session held 18 October, 1967, were read and it was moved by Commissioner
Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr, Commissioner

Mobile Home as Resi(!!"nce - Donald Boatwright:
Mr. Donald Boatwright appeared before the Commission and stated that he had been denied per-
mission about one year ago to occupy a Mobile Home as a residence, but that he has since noted sev-
eral Mobile Homes being occupied as residences with apparent sanction by the City; he specifically
called attention to a Mobile Home residence on NorthWallace Avenue and inquired of the Commission
why he was not permitted to occupy a Mobile Home as a residence when others were, according to Mr.
Boa twrigh t.
Minutes of the Commission Meeting of 4 May, 1966, were referred to and it was noted that Mr.
Boatwright's previous verbal request for use of a Mobile Home for a residence was in violation of
the Zoning Code because his proposal was for location on a 25 ft. by 140 ft.. si te in a Class 'A'
I residential zone on South Third Avenue.
Following thorough discussion of Mr. Boatwright's inquiry, the Commission concurred with the
recommendation of the Acting City Manager suggesting to Mr. Boatwright that he submit to the Building
Inspector, an application for a Building Permit if he so desired, thereby permitting the City to
consider each specific proposal under the appropriate codes.
Request to Operate Car Baler at City Dump - Pacific Hide & Fur Depot:
A letter received from Mr. Ed J. Schlauch, Manager of Pacific Hide and Fur Depot requesting
permission to operate a Car Body Press and other equipment including a Small Crane and Car Body
'Snippy' at the City Dump to include burning out the interior of car bodies was presented. Mr.
Schlauch was present to discuss and further explain the request and the Acting City Manager stated
the proposal had been studied by the Fire Chief, Sanitation Department Superintendent and City-
County Sanitarian.
Following discussion and upon recommendation of the Acting City Manager, it was moved by
Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the request to operate the Baler at
the City Dump be granted with the consideration to the City that all of the junk car bodies at the
City Dump be baled at no cost to the City and contingent upon the continued approval of the City-
I County Sanitarian of the burning and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Resolution No. 1350 - SettingDate, Amount and Maturity - Bonds SID No. '';70 :
Resolution No. 1350 authorizing the issuance of bonds of Special improvement District No. 470
was presented, entitled:
COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1350
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN FIXING
THE DATE, MATURITY DATE AND THE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF BONDS TO BE
ISSUED IN SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 470.

The Annual meeting of the Association of Montana Planning Boards has been scheduled for I
Helena on Friday, 27 October, 1967. The Acting City Manager recommended that Harold Korslund,
President of the Bozeman City-County Planning Board and also President of the State Association,
Harold A. Fryslie, Secretary of the Board and one other member of the Planning Board be authorized
to attend this meeting. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr,
that the authorization to attend the meeting on Friday, 27 October, 1967, be so approved and the
expenses paid from the Planning Fund and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No v~te:

Fund Drive~ - Campw Community Association for Retarded Children -

A letter received from Kirt Harding, Chairman of the Campus Committee, Association for
Retarded Children of Gallatin County for permission to conduct a Fund Drive on Saturday, 18 Nov-
ember, 1967, was presented. It was moved by Commissioner MorroW, seconded by Commissioner Langohr,
that permission be granted Sigma Nu Fraternity and Alpha O. Pi Sorority to hold the Fund Drive as
outlined on Saturday, 18 November, 1967, for the Gallatin County Retarded Children and the motion
was carri.ed by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Comm- I
issioner Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.

The Cemetery Report for the month of September was presented. The Acting City Manager comm-
en ted on the report and recommended the approval thereof. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow,
seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the report be approved and ordered filed and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner
Langohr and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.

A written request from Sheryl Gates, Student Body Secretary of Bozeman Senior High School, for
permission to stage a "Snake Dance" on Main Street on Fdday, 27 October, 1967, at 7:30 o'clock p.m.
was presen ted . The Police Captain stated that to his knowledge the event would not create a traffic
problem and the Police Department have been asked to escort them down Main Street. It was moved
by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner MorroW, that permission to stage the event be
gran ted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Comm-
issioner Langohr, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.

Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the meeting be adjourned and the
