Suchy - Bozeman TaproomFrom:Holly Suchy To:Agenda Subject:Taproom Approval Date:Thursday, December 08, 2016 2:49:54 PM I'm writing to show my support for a YES vote by the City allowing the Bozeman Taproom to have an All Beverage License. There are already a dozen establishments serving alcohol within a block of the school and there has been no harm to date. Due to the Taproom's support of a family atmosphere I don't feel that the addition of spirits will have any negative impact on the neighborhood. As a young female millennial, I personally feel like the taproom is much more family-friendly and geared toward neighborhood commonality than many of the All Beverage establishments located an additional 1 block away from Hawthorne Elementary. The Taproom does not disturb the peace with blaring electronic music, and I am certain they won't start serving mixed drinks out of buckets... If parents wanted to protest about the school's proximity to businesses that serve libations, they should have done so long ago. The kids can look to the south and spot Colonel Black's and the Pour House in the same field of view as the Taproom. Take the Taproom's proximity as an opportunity to teach kids about responsible alcohol consumption. Arm them with education, because more distress and hullabaloo the topic creates, the more power and mystique it gains in the eyes of young ones. It is not the Taproom's responsibility to make sure kids are informed, that duty lies within the home; a task for a diligent parent or family member.
