My husband and I have both lived here since 2003 and graduated from MSU in 2007. We now both work in Bozeman and have a daughter. My husband has also been in the Montana National Guard for 13 years. We love Montana, Bozeman in particular and one of the reasons why is because of how progressive and open minded the city of Bozeman is. I am writing to show my support for a YES vote by the City allowing the Bozeman Taproom to have an All Beverage License. There are already a dozen establishments serving alcohol within a block of the school and there has been no harm to date and due to the Taproom's support of a family atmosphere, I don't feel that the addition of spirits will have any negative impact on the neighborhood. I would also like to add that as a parent and I can 100% say that I personally have no issue with the Bozeman Taproom being across the street from a school. You have already given permission for the Bozeman Taproom to serve alcohol and allowing them to have an All Beverage License does not change the amount of alcohol they will be serving, it is just a different from. The Bozeman Taproom is offering jobs to people in Bozeman and allowing this license will only increase growth and jobs. It will ensure that this business stays in business and continues to support the community. The owners are long time residents of Bozeman and I know they will do everything to keep the Bozeman Taproom an upstanding place where you can bring your children to enjoy a game, have some food and spend time with each other. They even have coloring books and popcorn. In my opinion, parents shouldn't hide alcohol or teach their children to be afraid of it, or think it is "bad". Instead they should educate them on the proper use of alcohol, what it is intended for, the rules that must be followed and also the signs of over use. It is our job as parents to teach our children life lessons and work through issues that arise in life. I believe that having a family owned business that serves alcohol, in any form, across from a school is not one of those issues. Thank you for allowing me to give my input. Happy Holidays!
