As grandparents of three children attending Hawthorne School, we are deeply
concerned
about a bar located across the street from the Hawthorne classrooms, serving hard
alcohol
during school hours. This bar is within 100 feet of the school and is highly visible to
the
classrooms where young impressionable minds will be exposed to the many nefarious
situations
which are certain to arise in an establishment serving hard alcohol.
There is not adequate parking for Hawthorne parents now during school hours,
especially
during the hours of dismissal in the afternoon when parents are trying to pick up their
children.
Allowing a conditional use permit to the Tap Room will only make this situation
worse!!
Please DENY the Tap Room's request for a conditional use permit for a full beverage
license.
Granting such a permit clearly is NOT in the best interest of the children of Hawthorne
School
or the Bozeman community.
