allow downtown to become an elite enclave with the rest of use hanging on to our memories of a
down-to-earth, casual, life friendly town. The most recent threat, of course, is the Black/Olive
development, which I think would destroy some of our solid neighborhoods. How about waiting
to see what effects the Element hotel and the new condo building on Mendenthal have on
downtown, and the rest of town, before rushing in to surround the downtown area with high
rises We have enough high rent housing. What we need is more affordable housing. Black
Olive will not meet that need.
