Subject: Parking
A few thoughts on this new apartment building that you're planning. Has there been any
consideration for underground parking? Big cities do that, and It can make money. Most parking
spaces in apartment buildings are not used during work hours those spaces could be used for
parking for both workers and shoppers during the work week. Extra parking spaces could be
leased to tenants or local businesses. If I'm reading the newspaper right it seems like 20
apartments will not have parking spaces but will have shared spots. Most people who moved to
Bozeman are not going to want to live a sedentary lifestyle they want a active and outdoor
lifestyle and that means personal transportation. I'm writing this in support of friends in the area
Who are really concerned about the impact on their homes. For myself I avoid going downtown
unless I'm forced to. When you restructured the size of the parking spaces and you gave up
parking spaces to the new hotel you pretty much made it so it's not very practical or safe to drive
my pick up truck downtown looking for a parking space.
