The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, City Hall
Building, Wednesday, 22 March 1967, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Commissioner Langohr, Comm -
issioner Morrow, City Manager Cutting, Ass't City Manager Fryslie, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk.

Commissioner Morrow opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the regular session held Wednesday, 15 March 1967, were read and it was moved by
Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the minutes be approved as read and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr
and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.
De35gnation of President Pro Tempore of Commission:
In the absence of Mayor Sedivy, and in compliance with Section 11-3245, R.C.M. , 1947, it was
moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that Commissioner Langohr be desi-
gna ted to act as President Pro Tempore of the Commission and the motion was carried by the fo llowing
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow and Commissioner Langohr; those voti ng
No, none.
Absence of Mayor Sedivy: Governor'~ Industrial Development Conferenc~~
It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that Mayor Sedivy be
authorized to attend the Governor's Industrial Development Conference to be held in Missoula 23-24
March 1967, and, it being in the public interest his expenses be charged to the appropriate fund
I and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner
Langohr and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.

In compliance with Chapter 16 of the Bozeman Municipal Code, the plumbing bond of Chancy
Plumbing and Heating, Livingston, Montana, the plumbing and gas fitter bond of Western Plumbing
and Heating, Livingston, Montana and the gas fitter bond of Frank J. Trunk & Son, inc. , Bozeman was
presented. The City Manager stated the Building Inspector had recommended the approval of the above
men tioned bonds and the City Attorney had approved the bonds as to form. It was moved by Commissioner
Morrow, seconded hy Commissioner Langohr, that the continuation of the aforementioned bonds he app-
roved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye heing Commissioner
MorrO\v, and Commissioner Langohr; those voting No, none.

The Sure ty Bond of 1. G. Shadoan, Director of Finance, in the amount of $60,000.00 was presented.
The bond was approved as to form by the City Attorney and it was recommended by the City Manager that

It was reported a meeting of the State Planning Board Association was scheduled for Helena on
Friday, 7 April 1967. The City Manager recommended that Harold Korslund, Pres iden t of the Bozeman
City-County Planning Board and President of the State Association and Harold A. Fryslie, Secretary
of the Board be authorized to attend this meeting and, it be ing in the public interest the expenses

be paid from the planning fund. Tt was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Lan-
goh r, that the authorization to attend the meeting on Friday be so approved and the motion was

It was reported a Fire Department Officer Command School is schedulro to be conducted at Yakima. I
Washington. 10-13 April 1967, and in concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager and
the Fire Chief, it was moved by Commissioner Langohr. seconded by Commissioner MorrQ\07. that Fire
Chief Jack Huber be authorized to attend the school and, it being in the public interest, his expenses
be paid from the General fund and the motion ,07as carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.

Resolution No. 1321 levying assessment for the construction of Special Improvement District
No. 466, in the amount of $28.340.71 was presented, entitled:

A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, LEVYING
AND ASSESSING A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF TAXES UPON ALL THE PROPERTY IN
SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 466 IN THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, COUNTY OF
GALLATIN, STATE OF MONTANA, TO DEFRAY THE COST OF CONSTRUCTION AND MAKING
THE IMPROVEMENTS WITHIN SAID SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 466.

The report of the Director of Finance was presented. The City Manager commented on the report
and recommended the approval thereof. It was moved by Commissioner Langohr, seconded by Commissioner
Morrow, that the report be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Commissioner Langohr and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none.

It was reported by the Director of Finance that approximately $50,000.00 miscellaneous funds
will be available for reinvestment and in concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager,
it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the reinvestment in
Certificates of Deposit for an approximate one-hundred eighty days be approved and the motion was
carriect by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, and Comm-
issioner Langohr; those voting No, none.

The week of the 19-25 March 1967 was designated as Campfire Week to commemorate the 57th "
birthday of the organization. City Commissioner Don M. Langohr, Jr., representing Mayor Sedivy
during his absence, congratulated the girls representing each phase of progress in the Campfire I
Girls. A large birthday cake, baked in honor of the Campfire Girls, was presented to the City
Commission. Members of Tao-Wa-Ki-Ya group, under the direction of Guardians Marian Hollenback and
Marilyn Robertson sang "Happy Birthday to the Campfire Girls."

Commissioner Langohr announced that he had issued a proclamation emphasizing Tuesday, 28
March 1967, as "Chamber of Commerce Membership Day" in concurrence wi th the tvishes of the Bozeman
Chamber of Commerce.

Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Langohr, that the meeting be adjourned and the motion
