The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal
Building, 6 June 1973, at 1:15 o'clock p.m. Present were Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind,
Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, City Manager Fryslie, Ass't. City Manager Keyes, City
Attorney O'Connell and the Clerk.
Commissioner Vollmer opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had.
Minutes of the regular meeting were approved as read.
Authorize Absence of Mayor Grabow and Designate Commissioner Sedivy as Pres. Pro. Temp.
Due to the absence of Mayor Grabow and upon the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by
Commissioner Vandeventer, seconded by Commissioner Vollmer, that his absence be authorized in compliance
with Section 11-3245, R.C.M., 1947 and that Commissioner Sedivy be designated President Pro-Tempore and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vandeventer,
Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Lehrkind, and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Closure of Main Street - 2 July 1973, Wally Byum Downtown Day - Rouse to Willson.
A letter received from John P. Scully of Drysdale, McLean & Scully requesting the closing of Main
Street of Bozeman from North Rouse Avenue to North Willson Avenue and that Mendenhall Street and Babcock
Street be made one way streets for the day of 2 July 1973 was presented.
Following a thorough discussion in regard to the closure of Main Street, the Commission concurred
with the recommendation of the Chief of Police also concurred in by the City Manager and it was moved
by Commissioner Vo~lmer, seconded by Commissioner Lehrkind, that Main Street be closed block by block
from North Rouse Avenue to North Willson Avenue from 6:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. inclusive and that the north
and south streets be left open and that the City pay for the barricades. The motion was carried by the
following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner
Vandeventer, and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
The down town merchants intend to have a barbecue which could be set up on Main Street and would be
similar to a mall.
Request for Concession License - Lions Club, 4th of July Fireworks Display at Fairgrounds.
A letter received from David Locke of the Bozeman Lions Club requesting authority to conduct a
concession stand in conjunction with the Exchange club Fire Works located at the Gallatin County Fair
Grounds on 4 July, 1973, was presented.
Following a discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Lehrkind, seconded by Commissioner Vandeventer,
that they approve the concession and waive the license fee. The motion was carried by the following Aye
and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner
Vollmer, and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.

RIDGE DRIVE IN FIGGINS' ADDITION, AND IN LANGOHR AVENUE AND A PORTION OF SAID

Following a discussion and at the request of the property owners one-hundred percent of whom re-
quested the district, the holding of a public hearing was waived. The Commission concurred in the re-
commendation of the City Manager, and it was moved by Commissioner Vollmer, seconded by Commissioner
Lehrkind, that they waive the public hearing and proceed with the resolution creating the district in
accordance with Section 11-2201, R.C.M., 1947 and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:
those voting Aye being Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, and
Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.

The City Manager checked the claims and found them to be true and lawful claims against the City
and recommended they be approved and the Director of Finance be directed to issue warrants in payment.
It was moved by Commissioner Vandeventer, seconded by Commissioner Vollmer, that the claims be approved
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner
Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Lehrkind, and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No.none.
Continuation of License Bond - Gillian Clark Plumbing License, $5,000.00.
In compliance with Chapter 16 of the Bozeman Municipal Code, the plumbing bond of Gillian Clark
was presented. The City Manager stated the building inspector had recommended approval of the above
mentioned bond and the City Attorney had approved the bonds as to form. It was moved by Commissioner
Vollmer, seconded by Commissioner Lehrkind, that the continuation of the aforementioned bond be approved
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner
Vollmer, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, and Commissioner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time it was moved by
Commissioner Lehrkind, seconded by Commissioner Vandeventer. that the meeting be adjourned and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Lehrkinp,
