Millichap - Bozeman TaproomDear City Commissioners and School Board Trustees, I'm appalled at Hawthorne parents attempt to deny Taproom a full liquor license. Taproom already serves beer/wine, does it really make a difference if they can serve hard alcohol also. I don't think so. I have two girls who attend Hawthorne and have no problem having a restaurant/bar with full liquor license across the street. Most of the danger that comes from drinking alcohol happens when kids are out of school anyway. How many people are going to be drinking hard alcohol during school hours. Very few. I'd also like to point out that there is a police/fire station kitty-corner to the Taproom. I highly doubt any trouble will arise from midday drinking. There's also another bar (Poorhouse) with full liquor license 50 ft west of Taproom. I've eaten at the Taproom twice during school hours and it's mostly people getting food and a beer. Not something I'm worried about in terms of safety for my two kids. I've never seen a student while eating at Taproom during school hours as the playground is on opposite side of school. I feel like this petition to block Taproom is a once living big city liberal left feminist movement to micro manage every aspect of their children's safety from overprotective parents. Basically it's a joke and big waste of time from parents who have nothing better to do with their boring lives. I fully support the full liquor license of the Taproom and I'm confident I won't be the only one who supports Taproom. I have no ownership in Taproom nor do I know the owner. Just a customer who doesn't see a difference between beer/wine and hard alcohol. They all do the same thing and I doubt the Taproom will attract the midday drinking crowd especially since the police station is next door.
